Annabelle was attentive and gave great wine recommendations. The food was beautiful and delicious. Overall, it was a wonderful experience.

2nd time back in less than a week! For our Valentine’s Anniversary, we chose to share this fabulous Italian restaurant with our daughter and her husband. Ben and our waitress Greesa were very attentive from making the wait-time short, the service fantastic, the suggestion for wine spot-on and the food incredible. Now, our daughter & son-in-law can’t wait to take their friends to share the delicious experience! Thanks to the owners, chef and staff for making our 39th anniversary so special! See you soon!!

By far the best Italian restaurant I’ve tried in San Antonio. Came in on a busy day after Valentine’s Day and it did not disappoint. Well worth the wait. From the creamy Alfredo to the flavor packed Bronx Pollo Parmigiana, every bite was delicious. Their tiramisu is probably the best one in the city and their wine selection is niche and affordable !

Didn’t know what to expect when I got here but it totally exceeded my expectations! I do wish the place was bigger because our table was in a corner where we had little room to get in and out. But food was a 10 out of 10. My spicy rigatoni was the best I’ve tasted as was my husbands Parmigiana and please don’t get me started on that calamari. Super hot and fresh! The service was fantastic for it being so crowded. The owner Prince came to our table twice checking on us and making sure everything was good. Even saw him carrying wine samples to customers who were outside waiting. I will definitely be back

Food really good. The only reason I gave a 4star was the wait time on a Friday night 1 hour wait, no ability to reserve ahead of time. But while we waited we did get offered wine which Def a plus. Customer service superb. I suggested maybe having chairs or tables/bench outside facility, but fire code. Overall experience worth it! I encourage everyone to go and try!

Excellent first visit. Felt extremely welcomed by the owner. The calamari and salmon and sole were delicious! The Italian wine was also tasty. Will be back.

We weren't even hungry and we had one of our best dining experiences of the past three years. It was our 3rd anniversary and we came here on the advice of a friend... and what good advice it was! We started with stracciatella al fuoco, which was fantastic. My wife had the sole, I had lamb chops, and for both of us, the selections were the best we've had of these dishes (in her words, she didn't think fish could taste this good). We finished with tiramisu that was out of this world. Truly one of the best, if not THE best, Italian restaurants available in San Antonio. The restaurant itself was cute, and our server (Fati) was extremely attentive, even to bringing my wife warm wine (she has a tooth sensitivity this weekend) which, to use her words, was excellent.

Finally got to go for their dinner. There is always a long wait last time was 2 hours but it was the holidays. Today was right at 45 minutes. Like Kevin always says if there isn't a wait on Saturday night probably not going to make it in the restaurant business. Food was delicious definitely worth the wait. We shared the Insalata Primavera and Pollo Bronx Parmigiana plus bread with dipping oil. Plus a couple of glasses of red wine 🍷 It's the best parmigiana I've ever had. It is a golden-crusted chicken breast topped with vodka sauce, melted mozzarella, and a touch of sweet heat from cherry peppers, served over rigatoni Alfredo and Broccolini. They pour hot mozzarella on it right at your table. OMG!! Highly recommend if you're in the area. Staff was wonderful and very attentive with everything. Our bartender was on point too. Always checking in on us. We sat at the bar to wait but did eat the salad including bread. Then got a table for our main entree. Water and bread continued to be taken care of. Even the owner checked in on us twice once at the bar then seated at table. And thanked us again on way out of restaurant. Food portions were a lot. We shared and still have left overs. I'm pretty full. Best Italian I've had in a very long time. I'm not sure if he's going to expand there or not. But I feel like they may outgrow that space. But overall one of the top restaurants in my book. Definitely will be back. Each time will have to try a new entree but that parmigiana rocked. 😊

Amazing experience!!! Joe behind the bar was so knowledgeable about the food, wine, and made us feel so welcomed. The food was excellent! Can’t say enough great things about Mare e Monte. The Christmas decor made us feel so warm like we were home. Definitely coming back!!!!

We love this restaurant so much. It has become in our regular rotation of restaurants for a cute date night. Prince is wonderful and if you sit at the bar with Joe you will get amazing meal and wine pairing suggestions!

Wine, entrees and dessert were wonderful! Our waiter Joe was great and super personable! We brought our 4 year old daughter with us and Joe made she sure was taken care of and got her food out first! The Sole was delicate and buttery, one of the best I’ve ever had. I opted for the Biscoff cheesecake for dessert.. delicious! Will be back to try more of the menu.

Wow! What a terrific experience, from the greeting at the door, to the wine recommendation and personal attention from Ben, to the friendliness of everyone, (especially Joe)...and then the food! OMG - Amazing. This was our first time; we will be back. It's worth the one-hour drive!

Fantastic Italian Spot! The wait was about 43 minutes, but my group didn’t mind. . We were outside chatting when someone from the staff surprised everyone by coming out with complimentary glasses of wine to make the wait more enjoyable. Such a thoughtful gesture! Highly recommend this restaurant!! Everything we tried was delicious. The Stracciatella al Fuoco appetizer was the standout: warm, creamy burrata over spicy Arrabbiata with crostini. A must-order. Our table had the Pollo e Monte, Rigatoni Vodka, Salmone al Forno, and Pollo Bronx Parmigiana. EVERY dish was flavorful, well-seasoned, and beautifully prepared. For dessert, the biscotti cheesecake is a must, and the tiramisu was delicious as well!

First timers. Came for our 5th anniversary. The atmosphere is very warm, cozy and inviting. The service was incredible and the food nearly unbelievable and generous - highly recommend the caprese salad and Bronx parmagiana, both are delicious and can feed 2 people comfortably. Ask for Alizay, she was fantastic and had excellent recommendations pertaining to both the food and wine menu. We will be coming back very soon!

We had an appetizer, 2 different entrée, and a desert and all were delicious! The staff was friendly and attentive and the owner made sure everything was to our liking and made the environment very comfortable and welcoming. There were multiple options for wine either by the glass or bottle for red, white, and rose/sparkling options.

Where do I start!! Let’s just say I cried twice from happiness; the service (Zerina and Ben), the wine selection (that is AFFORDABLE), the appetizers, the entrees, the dessert, and the espresso were above and beyond anything I could Have ever imagined for a small Italian restaurant in the middle of San Antonio! I’m very thankful for TikTok, because I would’ve never have known or visited. Worth the 40 minute drive and I will be back with the whole family! Try it, try it now! I wish I knew how to insert videos and photos!

Prince is a very hospitable owner of this delicious Italian restaurant. You can tell he works diligently to make Mare E Monte a welcoming, enjoyable, and tasty dining experience. He greatly demonstrates a passion for culinary arts which resonates with the head chef’s cooking. The chicken piccata was among the best I’ve ever had. Their selection of wines is also great. My family enjoyed their various other dishes as well. Give this family-owned spot a try! We will be coming back.

We heard about this restaurant on TicToc so wanted to try it. They do not do reservations but you can get on a waitlist via their website or through the Yelp app. We got on the list upon arrival. The wait time was just over an hour on a Friday night but worth it! You must wait outside standing on the sidewalk or in your car. There are no seats for waiting inside nor is there room. I had the Crispy Chicken Picatta. I have never had it crispy but it had so much flavor. I would order this again. Like everytime I order chicken picatta someplace, I never get enough pasta😏 My tablemate ordered the Ravioli Mare e Monte. She seemed to like it as there were no leftovers. Next time she wants to order the dish she saw in the TicToc video. Sorry I don't know the name of it. We had a side caesar salad that was really fresh and tasty and enough for two people. We had wine with our meals. They bring fresh bread to the table with some olive oil mix for dipping. That bread was delicious! I ate too much of it. We skipped dessert. The atmosphere was nice and has a bar (about 6-7 seats). The one TV at the bar has a food/travel channel on that was nice. The owner greeted everyone waiting outside for a table and continued to greet all the tables inside as well. He could maybe use a bigger space but really it works well just like it is. The service is good and the price is not too much. The food is exceptional.

We came here on a whim and were not disappointed. Ordered the spicy calamari, Caesar salad and the sole risotto. The sole really stood out, and I would highly recommend it. The bread served to the table was also very good. Their wine list is decent, but is aimed at bottle purchases (vs. buying a glass). The service was very good, best we’ve had in San Antonio.

My boyfriend and I sat at the bar to have dinner and Joe did such an amazing job at taking care of us. We came in because we heard that the food was amazing and we were not disappointed. We started with the Insalata Caprese, made with creamy Burrata that melted in our mouths, and the Carciofi al Tartufo—a brilliant twist on artichoke caprese that was both fresh and indulgent. For mains, the Lamb Chops were perfectly seared and seasoned, the Lobster Ravioli with Shrimp was rich and luxurious, and the Sole over Asparagus Risotto topped with a butter lemon sauce was a standout—delicate, bright, and beautifully balanced. Portions aren’t oversized, but the flavor more than makes up for it. Every bite felt intentional and crafted with care. Our server Joe was fantastic—his wine pairing recommendation elevated the entire meal. This restaurant doesn’t just serve food—it serves an experience. Can’t wait to go back!

I had a very good experience dining here is hard to find and authentic and delicious Italian place. From the appetizer to the main course and the big selection of wines everything was perfect. Waiter was very helpful explaining the dishes and recommending wines to go with the main dish. We had the lamb chops best dish in my opinion with some red wine. The cheesecake Biscoff for dessert was just perfect to finish our night. I recommend this place for a nice romantic dinner or for the whole family. Parking lot is kinda small at the front but there's more space in the back. Reservation is not required but it will save you some time.

We stumbled upon this gem because they offer gluten-free bread and gluten-free pasta and they have several gluten sensitive items. The experience from start to finish was amazing and made us feel at home. Joe, our server, was the cherry on top. He walked us through the wine list and found my husband the perfect wine for before and during dinner. He even made sure I was well aware of my choices concerning the GF/GS options. I won’t even try to name the dishes we had because the names are in Italian. The lemonade was tasty and fresh. The entire staff was attentive and friendly. The owner definitely set the tone. This may become our regular spot. Oh also we we’re pleasantly surprised to see that they put acoustic paneling up. My only critique is the duck fat potatoes needed to have a crisp to them.

Absolutely AMAZING!! Everything about my experience was incredible. Phenomenal service, Edwin was attentive and extremely thoughtful. The owner, Prince, greeted us and truly made us feel at home. Everyone on the staff made us feel so comfortable and our happiness was their main priority. The food, just as amazing. We shared a Caesar salad, and I had the Pollo Bronx Parmigiana and my partner had the ravioli! The mascato wine was sweet and delicious. I was 1000% satisfied! I will be back!

A very nice and well-kept restaurant. The first thing that catches your eye is the wall with the wine selection. The welcome is very friendly, and finally, the tables have tablecloths, just like in real Italian restaurants. Excellent wine selection, both by the glass and by the bottle. The menu offers a good selection of Italian dishes. The pasta is cooked al dente, with excellent ingredients. The Caprese, although a reinterpretation, is very tasty and delicious, prepared with top-quality ingredients. All the staff are truly friendly, they make you feel right at home. Thank you so much.

We did a walk in in the middle of dinner time and waited at the bar for only five or so minutes and they sat us. Our waitress, Nadia, was the sweetest! She gave us guidance on what is really good to try on your first time there! This place is a great place for date night. It’s not too loud to enjoy conversation and a glass of wine. The wine list has a variety of options for anyone’s taste. I totally recommend trying this very cozy restaurant!!!

This is the best Italian food I have ever had. Seriously. Not only that, but the service made me feel like I was part of the family. The wine selection is incredible, the homemade bread and cheesecake were absolutely phenomenal and they even sang me happy birthday! This place is an absolute GEM. Food, environment and service was good and extremely fast. We were amazed by how fast the food came in. Our waitresses was on point with her food recommendations, in special with the wines.

I first came for lunch during the week, when they had not been open that long and the service and food were good and there was no one really in the restaurant. I came back tonight for dinner and it was busy, but the owner was amazing. He made sure I had a seat at the bar and was checking on all the customers. My server was also amazing. I never had to wait too long for anything and the food was delicious again and so was the wine. Highly recommend and definitely will be back.

A bit pricey but very good food and service which is increasingly rare these days. Extensive selection of wine to compliment meal if you like, I prefer whiskey or rum.

Had heard many great comments about this place and they were all true. Delicious food, nice wine list, genuine hospitality...from the owners and virtually all of the staff. They treat you like you're a family member from the time you step through the door to the time they give you a hug and send you home. It was our first visit but we'll be back. Nothing not to like at Mare E Monte. Free parking, too. Give it a try.

Sebastian was amazing, he was so kind and personable! He gave us his recommendations which did not disappoint, the food, the wine & vibes were all immaculate. By far the best Italian food I’ve EVER had! The owner made sure to greet us and told us “welcome home, we’re all family here”.

Our server Joe was amazing everything he recommended was absolutely perfect. Joe picked an amazing bottle of wine as well. The food was so delicious I will be back for sure.

Nice welcoming! Zerina, our server, was very kind as well as the host and busboy. Our meals were served at the right time. We ordered the Ocean City Crab Cakes and the Insalata Primavera as appetizers. As entreés The Gnocchi Bolognese with shrimp and The Spicy Rigatoni with meatballs. It was a delicious experience in combination with the right portion in all the plates. The service was impecable. It was also a pleasure to meet the owner and see him thanking all the costumers and making sure we were enjoying our time there. Definitely in our list of favorites already. We'll come back for dinner next time to add a glass of wine (or two).

From the moment we arrived at Mare E Monte, the experience was outstanding. There’s plenty of parking, which made getting there easy and convenient. We were warmly greeted at the door and seated right away. Our waitress was exceptionally polite and clearly very experienced. She knew the menu well and helped us navigate the wine selection with confidence. After we ordered, the appetizers came out quickly—fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. When the entrées arrived, something remarkable happened—everyone at the table fell completely silent. That’s how good the food was! We each ordered something different, and every dish was absolutely delicious. Pure Italian excellence. To top it all off, the owner, Mr. Prince, personally came by our table to chat. He was friendly, gracious, and genuinely appreciative of our visit. That personal touch made the evening even more memorable. I’ll definitely be returning to Mare E Monte for more incredible Italian food. Highly recommended!

First time here. WOW! We wanted Italian to celebrate my husband's accomplishment, and decided to try something new. We are so glad we did! From the moment you walk in, you are family - at the home of your financially successful relatives. It has a great ambience without being pretentious. We were greeted warnly by Prince, the owner, with the words "welcome home." The service here is exceptional! And the experience just got better from there. From the wine list, to the appetizers, to the salads to the main course meal, everything was just extraordinary. Try the Adriatic Shrimp with scallops! You won't be sorry! We have our favorite, normal go-to's for Italian, where you always know what you're gonna get. This is next level food- with the added bonus of exceptional, friendly service.

Our family visited for a late lunch on Friday 18 July. Our server was Joe and he was prompt, attentive, and very knowledgeable about wine and the menu. The gnocchi was delicious. The sole oregenata was buttery goodness and the Bronx Pollo Parmigiana was excellent. We look forward to our next visit.

The very involved owner, Prince, is a great ambassador for his restaurant. His personality draws you in. And the food keeps you coming back. From the delicate sole to the tangy chicken piccata to the Adriatic shrimp with a nice bite from the cherry peppers. Joe, our server, was very knowledgeable about the good and recommended the best wine to suit our table. So pleased with this place.

Mare e Monte translates from Italian to English as The Sea and Mountains. They took a common phrase in Italian cuisine and adopted it as their restaurant moniker for us 'Mericans. The menu was sufficient. Our table of six selected Asparagus Fries, Insalata Caprese and Insalata Primavera as our antipasto. Each was uniquely prepared, fresh and delicious. We skipped the primo (pasta) and selected our secondo meal. Lasagne al Forno ("one of the best I've had," said this guest); the Vitello alla Picatta "melted in my mouth," said this guest; both the third guest and myself selected Gnocchi Bolognese. We'd both enjoyed a version of this delicious potato dumpling delicacy during our separate travels to Italy. This is one of my favorite all time favorite secondi. Mare e Monte seems to be the only Italian restaurant in the San Antonio, TX, area, who serves it as a main course that I have found so far. "Delicious," we both remarked. Now, my lovely Bride will typically select Salmon at any restaurant that includes it on their menu.  At the recommandation of our server, Fatima, she actually changed her selection to Sole Oregenata. She was very happy with this selection--"light, flaky, and no 'fishy' taste," were some of her comments. Half of us shared a delicious bottle of red wine from their lovely selection of wines and split a piece of delicious cheesecake. We all took our leftovers. Two of our party actually packaged their leftovers for home, something they never do at restaurants we accompany them to. All in All, Mare e Monte is a 5-star 🌟 times 2.

I had lunch with a friend for the first time. Definitely will return. Food and service were excellent. We loved the ambiance of the restaurant. We split the Adriatic shrimp, insalata caresses, Orecchiette pasta and cannoli: amazing! The accompanying bread was also superb. Though we didn’t have wine, the list was very interesting with bold choices and reasonable prices. I inspected the new wine for the upcoming wine list and it was also amazing. Best Italian food that I have had in San Antonio. Reservations are not accepted at this time. Parking in front and back is ample. The owner visited our table and it was obvious that he was interested in us having a great experience at his restaurant. Highly recommended.

Mare E Monte is a benchmark Italian experience that cannot be found elsewhere in the Alamo city. Our captain for the evening, Joe, perfectly blended superb customer service with warm and genuine engagement. The food is divine and matched with expert wine pairings. Underneath the splendid layers of fresh lasagna and bolognese, there is a lot of rich history to the place as well. But I won’t ruin it for you here, instead, discover that on your own after you speak with the owner. 10/10. Thanks guys!

Would rather give 4.5 stars due to very limited dessert menu (all heavily dairy) and no dessert wines. Other than that the food here is incredible. Looking forward to returning

Food is great , Service even better and atmosphere is warm inviting and relaxed… until you add my two crazy boys haha Joe made sure to recommend the most ordered and loved plates and was very attentive (although we didn’t listen to his recs) . We ordered chicken and shrimp Alfredo for the boys (missed the creamy/milky-ness of it) but over all tasty. Chicken piccata is a great portion and got a gluten free pasta option on the side (thankful for that) but also was missing something, not sure what exactly. Hubs got lasagna and a side of eggplant parm which were both sooooo delicious, I think the Homemade tomato sauce makes everything better. House wine paired great with our meals so over all will come back again. Maybe we just need to have a date night without our kids to enjoy it all much more.

Most delicious pasta fare in San Antonio. Everything is quality, from food to service. T Try the Sole and Stuffed Pepper with Ribeye as you can’t go wrong with my two favs. Wine selection is superb. Desserts are delectable. Great place for date night or to impress the hard to please parents! Highly recommend for a great time.

We came to Mare e Monte for date night and Joe was our server and he was so great!! He was very knowledgeable about the menu and had some great recommendations for pairing menu items and wine. The atmosphere was great and service was amazing. We will definitely be coming back.

We have eaten here many times and it has become one of our very favorite San Antonio restaurants. The food is consistently top-notch, and the prices on both the food and beverages including wine are very reasonable. This is a happy place and the servers are exceptionally helpful. It is lively, but not deafening. Free parking is available.

5 stars all the way. Food was incredible and service was impeccable. The owner took the time to greet me and super impressed they had carmenere on the wine menu…my favorite chilean wine. Grilled artichoke appetizer was to die for. Definitely give this place a try.

This place is a great find! They recently made adjustments to their menu and had run out of the very reason we went there, gluten free pasta! The owner felt so bad he sent someone to purchase some while we enjoyed our wine. I am so glad we waited because the chicken piccata was the best I have ever had! They even had some gluten free bread to dip which is a real treat. The food is very reasonably priced and the serving size is more than enough so we had leftovers. It was even better the next day!!

When my husband and I entered the front door we felt like we entered the home of a good friend. We were greeted by the owner who assured us we were, in fact, home. We were wined and dined in the most delightful family atmosphere. The food was excellent, authentic and just perfect! Even gluten free bread for me which was the tastiest! Our waiter, Guillermo, was attentive to every need and was THE best ever! Felt we were transported to Italy in the couple of hours we dined. This was the MOST delightful experience and most delicious meal we have had in a while. Felt we made many new friendships and will be returning soon. Thanks for a fun filled delicious evening!

I love this restaurant! Have been for dinner and wine event. Staff is do friendly, and food is very tasty! The best Italian restaurant I have tried in San antonio! (And have been looking for 3 Years, trying 7-8 different places!) Definitely recommended!

This was such an unexpected pleasure to eat here last night. Our server Jace was very friendly and attentive. The owner came by twice to welcome us and check on us. We had the artichoke appetizer, the sole, and the veal picatta, and tiramisu, along with a bottle of wine. Prices were very reasonable, and food was just outstanding. So much better than hassling with downtown traffic and parking too! Will absolutely be back!!

Food was yummy, huge servings. Recommend the caprese salad. Enjoyed the bread starter, but wish the olive oil came out with more herbs/pepper. Staff were delightful though we had to remind our server about anything we’d asked for (pepper, a new napkin, glass of wine.) Popular lunch spot for ladies 50+ when we were there. Overall felt overpriced for lunch (total for a salad, two mains, and two glasses of wine = $100) considering half the food came out cold and service was okay but not great.

Everything about this restaurant is five star! Our waiter Adam's service is super, just the right amount of attention and very knowledgeable on the wine and food. All the food was super from the artichoke appetizer, our entries lamb chops and the black noodle dish my husband orders, the wine and tiramisu are all great! We are so happy to have discovered this restaurant. We will be coming back for sure!

As first timers they helped are party of 10 and were very attentive, and the food was delicious. The menu has good choices, Dessert was amazing. And wine list is top tier. Definitely coming back!

All those 5 star reviews are correct! Delish, well crafted food. Excellent service. Elegant but casual atmosphere. We went for Linner (around 3:30) on a Saturday. There were more diners than expected at that time, but not too crowded. We love that the menu has creative twists to traditional italian dishes. You can also change out potato for pasta on dishes, etc. We were happy with the starter--fried asparagus--lightly crunchy, great flavor. The Bronx Pollo Parmigiana & Pork Chop Remo were outstanding. The Alfredo on pasta was perfect, pungent cheese & thick. Also, soft sour dough served with flavorful spiced olive oil. Fairly extensive wine list & we enjoyed a moderately priced Italian red. The owner came by to chat & and the waiter was attentive. We liked that the waiter paced the meal, so we enjoyed each course to the fullest. Leftovers were just as good next day!

The word is getting out. We dined in with friends on a Saturday night. They do not take reservations, and the wait time was about an hour. While we waited, several potential patrons came and went. Some were on the list searching for somewhere to wait, and some chose to forego the wait. Hopefully, they return because it was worth every second, and not just for the food. In an unusual turn of events, the service outdid the food, and the food was pretty darn good! While we waited, we spoke with the owner, Prince, no less than half a dozen times as he checked on us, apologizing for the wait. He then secured seats at the bar for us where we enjoyed a glass of wine while we waited. Prince took time during this very busy night to share with us his vision for great service and great food. The food was excellent, by the way, and our server was top-notch. If they keep going, they are going to quickly outgrow their space, which is a great problem to have. Don't let the long wait on a Saturday night discourage you. They are plenty of other nights to choose from, but you've gotta go! And say hello to Prince, it will make his day!

Incredible and affordable wine list and great food.

Food portions were small for their pricing. There were a few dishes that my family didn’t care for. The meatballs was one of them and I think it was the seafood risotto. Husband was also disappointed that there was only wine and Italian beer selections. The place is nice but small, wait staff was nice. Salmon was good but I left hungry still and I never eat my whole plate anywhere but I did here.

Amazing!!! Best meal I've had in san antonio in a long time. We all know how bad service and overall quality has gotten post covid, even at high end places, this place is an exception. We had the lamb chops- super tender and flavorful and the risotto- good portion great taste, we also had the tiramissu- amazing. Overall wonderful place. This was on a weekday late in the day and service was still top notch. With wine, appetizer, meal and dessert, plus a generous tip we spent $75 per person.

The staff was suuuuper attentive and we were thanked several times for our patience. Hubby wanted a proper lunch this past Sunday instead of brunch food. He suggested we visit @ristorantemareemonte on Huebner. It was already busy but we were able to be seated quickly. If you don’t know, you can join the waitlist on Yelp. Prince welcomed us warmly, shared recommendations and ensured we had a great experience. Even gave us complimentary tiramisu and blueberry cheesecake to take home. The complimentary bread was warm and came with a dipping sauce. We tried the Calamari allArrabbiata with the sauce on the side. They were perfectly crunchy and also had the aioli to dip in. We shared the Insalata Primavera, which was perfect for the 3 of us. During our previous date night, Prince recommended the Sole Oregenata, their customers’ all-time favorite dish. Dad and I shared that generous portion. Love the sauce! Hubby had the recommended Pork Chop San Remo and added the Fettucine Alfredo. Love the fig jam on the crust! He shared a bite but I had to ask for a second bite! All the food were fantastic. Guillermo never missed a beat with his service. He kept our drinks filled and checked in on us frequently. If you haven’t been here yet, add it to your list to must try. Everything is wonderful from start to finish! The restaurant will introduce new dishes in April. In addition, they will be having wine dinners to test new dishes. February’s wine dinner will feature Georgian wines.

Exceptional food and service! I was there for my birthday with my family. The waiter treated us so well. He checked on us frequently, with a smile. We had two members of the staff come by to check on us as well. The food was beyond delicious, fresh and seasoned perfectly. I order the lasagne al forno with a meatball and a bottle of red wine for the table. The red sauce was perfectly light and fresh like a true Italian sauce should be. We finished our meal with tiramisu, a lite up candle and everyone from the staff singing happy birthday to me. It was a beautiful evening. I cannot wait to be back. Thank you so much, Mare E Monte!

When the staff isn’t around, he is usually helping out with a smile on his face. This place is top line service. The food/wine is incredible too. Also appreciate it’s not overly expensive either.

New favorite restaurant! We lived in Naples, Italy, for 3 years so we're always looking for authentic Italian cuisine in San Antonio. Had dinner there tonight with my wife and daughter. Their wine selection by the glass was good, and we had the Chianti, which was excellent. The calamari appetizer is the best calamari I've had in years, and our salad with burrata cheese was excellent, too. We had the chicken parm and the sole; both were fantastic. Bourbon apple pecan pie for dessert, and it was outstanding. Our waiter, Kyron, was very attentive and knowledgeable, and the owner, Prince, is a great guy, and very pro-American. We will be back!!!

My family and I went Saturday night for dinner. The food was fantastic and our waiter I think his name was Lucky(?) was great. He was attentive but not intrusive. My only complaint was that there was this man who said he was the sommelier asking us if we needed help with our wine order. However, I think he was just joking around and so I am not sure what is purpose was in the restaurant. He just seemed to go from table to table annoying the customers. However, overall the experience was pleasant and we will definitel go again.

The staff is extra friendly and I believe the owner came by our table to greet us. You can switch things up on the menu a bit if you want. My wife and I had the veal, which was tender and delectable. We ordered a bottle of wine. I was able to order a kid size portion of spaghetti and meatballs for my toddler son. He went to town on it. I had a taste, and it was just superb. They don't skimp out on the marinara sauce here!

The best Italian in SA! Food was wonderful!! We ordered the veal piccata, chicken parmesan, a side of eggplant parmigiana and a caesar salad. The owner came in to greet us. We felt like we had homemade food. Ambiance is very nice. White tablecloths and nice napkins. They offered us complementary wine. My favorite was the Caesar salad and the chicken Parmesan. When we first walked in the place it was very pleasant. From the lighting to the tables, The atmosphere was very pleasant. It felt like being home with family. Are server was on the spot with everything as busy as she was handling both sides. She was always making sure our water was filled, our bread was on the table and our order was taking care of. The dish took a bit longer than expected. But I didn't mind that the owner's wife was absolutely amazing. And offered us a free glass of wine while we waited.

Best of all was the feeling of having the staff treat us as if it was our house minus the clean up. What a refreshing experience having the owner share his love for this country and his guests. Not sure where to start, the amazing service or the food... Came here for a Sunday lunch. Upon walking in, about 5 staff were standing by the door welcoming every guest and seating them at the table of their choice. Owner immediately came over to greet us and insisted we let him know if anything was not perfect from the food, service, ambiance, lighting, etc... He also told us about the meaning and history of him opening the restaurant and how much it means to him for every guest to be 100% satisfied. Lastly, he told us about the menu concept and gave some recommendations. Wow, all this was before the service started. Zerina was our server and she immediately came over and was just as pleasant, friendly, and helpful. Ordered a few glasses of wine while looking over the menu. For appetizers, ordered the Calamari Fritti and Shrimp Oreganata. For the meal, ordered the Sole Oreganata, Pasta Al Nero, Bronx Pollo Parmigiana, and Eggplant Permesan as a shared side. For dessert, ordered Tiramisu and a Chocolate Caramel Cake. Every course was perfectly timed as had plenty of time to finish each dish without having to wait a long time for the next. Every dish was perfectly plated in every detail. Most importantly, every dish tasted amazing. Everyone tried each dish and was equally as impressed. I would've been happy with any dish as my main meal. I can't say which was better, the food or the service. Probably the most genuine, authentic, and personal service I've had in San Antonio. This has quickly become a go to and I'd highly recommend coming here.

This place is the absolute best Italian restaurant anywhere in the triangle. The manager/owner was actively on the floor talking to guest and pouring free wine (Yes FREE wine) for anyone who was dining. I ordered the Chops and let me tell you they did not disappoint. They were the most tender perfectly seasoned and seard chops I've EVER tasted. We also had the strawberry white chocolate tiramisu and it was so good I didn't even share with my wife. All the staff was friendly and were not shy to help each other's tables and guests. I've never experienced such good customer service in any establishment I've been in. The owner literally opened the door for us on the way out, asked us our names, shook my wife's and I's hand and told us the restaurant is our home, we are always welcome. I'm so glad I chose to dine at Mare E Monte that evening because it was an experience I've never had and will never forget. Thank you for making that night memorable. A hidden secret for sure. Exquisite food excellent service and right now you can bring your own wine as their TABC license is pending. Lamb chops as tender as butter; sole melts in your mouth, chicken marsala was perfect balance of savory and sweet served with garlic mashed potatoes.

I happened accidentally upon this place with a friend of mine and we were both pleasantly surprised! It has a beautiful Moon/Asian/metro ambience, though a little cold, so bring your sweater. I enjoyed the Lasagne entree and the garlic shrimp appetizer. Cool perk: They are offering free wine while the establishment acquires their liquor license! Overall, I’d say the is is a solid Italian food choice with an added perk of being a great choice for a date night. Pricing is moderately high, but not outrageous for anyone who wants to eat out and NOT spend a fortune.

First off, I was really looking forward to coming to try this new restaurant based on the reviews. The service was impeccable and very attentive. The interior atmosphere was wonderful with the illuminated moon and styling set the mood. The complimentary wine was a great gesture and much appreciated. At the end of the meal they provide a QR code to leave a review… but I cannot justly give a 5 star review based on the quality of the meals we received. As we were disappointed to say the least. The chicken on the piccata was very over done with little to no sauce to accompany the swapped out pasta for vegetables. The lasagna had little to no meat or much of anything between the layers of pasta. It was very bland. I had to send meatballs back and chose not to eat the second one as both were undercooked in the middle.

We saw a recent local news story featuring this restaurant and all that was reported was great, so we decided to try it. To start with the staff are all extremely attentive and professional. The overall ambience is comfortable and relaxing. The had the Shrimp Oreganata which are shrimp cooked in a butter, garlic and white wine sauce. It was delicious. I had the lasagna with a beef and veal meatball on the side. It was one of the best lasagnas I've ever had and the meatball made it even better. Why go the the noisy chain restaurants when we have locally owned small businesses that will provide you with a wonderful and intimate dining experience. We will definitely be returning.

Okay... So we went here with our foodie friends. Which means we had high expectations. And it was "Italian." Which means other expectations. Not really Italian... That being said. This place is awesome. Just let Prince pick your food. That's what I did. Buttery shrimp for an appetizer, the calamari had a fun spice and delicious sauce. Wine was nice. Everyone loved their food and I, whilst thinking about meat and noodles all day, had the best piece of Sole I've ever had. That fish was perfect. It was so good I slowed down to eat it. It was ridiculous. Gonna go back for sure. If you're in the hood and looking for a knock you out dining experience, this is it. Service was fantastic. Place was clean, restrooms were clean. Felt like a VIP. And the prices, while not cheap, were pretty reasonable. Top to bottom excellent experience. Best part was going home and not feeling bloated or too full. Great desserts and espresso. Just go and eat and enjoy....

Some of the best, if not, THE best Italian food I’ve ever had. service was personal and top notch, and we even got some free wine tastings. Really hope the best for this place. It was superb!

Me and my partner decided to have dinner last night and couldn’t figure out what spot was next on our list. We had a great craving for pasta and have before had success with finding good authentic Italian restaurants in San Antonio (surprisingly). We stumbled across Mare E Monte on Google and the reviews were exceptional and the pictures looked up to par to match. When we arrived the restaurant itself wasn’t what I was expecting, in all the good ways though! It was a newly opened brick and mortar style establishment and we were very impressed from the minute we walked in. Mind you I had called ahead to ask if service animals were allowed and without hesitation Prince, the owner said yes, my pup could come along. Once we sat down the whole staff was very attentive and asked plenty of questions. They made us feel right at home and asked for our honest feedback with everything being brought out. We ordered the Calamari all’Arrabbiata which was hot, fresh, held its crispiness when tossed in the marinara. They did give us complimentary wine (white or red) on them since they cannot sell any beer, wine or liquor for the time being. It was amazing and great touch to our date. I ordered the shrimp fettuccine, my partner ordered chicken penne Alfredo, Must we say both of those dishes did not disappoint whatsoever. the sauce was tasted homemade, light, buttery, the shrimp and chicken were cooked perfectly. They were hot, they were fresh, and we actually ate so fast that by the time we were full our plates were still hot! Not to mention the bread and oil duo hit the spot as well. Ardit, out waiter was checking on us consistently making sure everything was good, our cups were full, and our food was to our liking. *AND THEY GAVE US FREE DESSERT ON THEM!!* I hope this restaurant has a successful journey here in San Antonio. I can definitely see good things coming from such hard work. Check them out and show them some love. They are going to blow up. Shoutout Prince and his whole team.

Excellent, personal service. Food was delicious and reminded me of Italian home cooking. Only complaint would be no wine list as of yet due to waiting on license, however, owner made up for it in other ways. Looking forward to visiting again soon.
