Fabulous! This restaurant continues to exceed expectations. Javier, our waiter was very friendly, attentive and engaging.
Our party of six had a variety of dishes and to include lamb chops, lobster ravioli and Bronx pollo parmigiana pollo. All the dishes were delicious.
The owner also passed by a few times to check on us and ensure we were having a good dining experience.
Give this restaurant a try and you wonβt be disappointed. Excellent customer service!
By far the best Italian restaurant Iβve tried in San Antonio. Came in on a busy day after Valentineβs Day and it did not disappoint. Well worth the wait. From the creamy Alfredo to the flavor packed Bronx Pollo Parmigiana, every bite was delicious. Their tiramisu is probably the best one in the city and their wine selection is niche and affordable !
First visit here and it was spectacular. My wife and I didn't know it was a limited menu because of the Valentine's Day weekend, with the intention of trying a lasagna, but it was so much better than we anticipated.
Great recommendations from the staff and pairings were awesome. We tried a Bronx Pollo Parmigiana and it was incredible.
Met the owner Ben and treated us as a member of the family. Encouraged us to come back and try the full menu and would love to have us again.
Will definitely come back for a taste of everything.
Revisit -
Double Wow! This place is fantastic, the food is outstanding, and the service is excellent. This time we ordered the Cesar salad which is huge enough for 2. Not overly covered in dressing and lettuce was crisp, but very good. We had Pollo alla Picatta and the Bronx Pollo Parmigiana both were fantastic!
If you want to impress someone, this is the place!
Original visit-
Wow! We ordered the Pollo Al Marsala which was wonderful. The chicken was pan fried with the delicious gravey. We shared the plate because it was enough for 2 people. The bread that is given prior to the meal was fresh and delicious. We ended with chocolate cake, again great. The service was outstanding. The Owner was on the floor thanking each table and checking on the meals. It was truely a good feeling. A diffenate return. $$$
Didnβt know what to expect when I got here but it totally exceeded my expectations! I do wish the place was bigger because our table was in a corner where we had little room to get in and out. But food was a 10 out of 10. My spicy rigatoni was the best Iβve tasted as was my husbands Parmigiana and please donβt get me started on that calamari. Super hot and fresh! The service was fantastic for it being so crowded. The owner Prince came to our table twice checking on us and making sure everything was good. Even saw him carrying wine samples to customers who were outside waiting. I will definitely be back
The food, service, and ambience are amazing! You have to try the chicken parmigiana and spicy rigatoni!! The food came out hot and freshly made. The owner came over to greet our table, and our waitress was extremely friendly! We dined in on a busy Thursday before Valentineβs and there was no wait.
Recommended by our son. Small but the atmosphere was excellence. Wait staff provided excellent service. Ordered the artichokes as an appetizer with the Pollo Bronx Parmigiana. Food was awesome.
The was our first time and we were blown away! We ordered the Caesar salad, calamari fritters and veal parmigiana. Everything was fantastic! Can't wait to come back with our kids. Oh, and Joe's PlayList was BOMB!
I stopped by Mare e Monte for lunch with five other guests for a birthday.
I ordered the vitello parmigiana and the vitello alla piccata, and both were spot on. The veal parmigiana was tender and comforting, with just the right amount of sauce and cheese. Nothing felt heavy or overdone.
The vitello alla piccata was lighter but still full of flavor. The lemon and capers were balanced and fresh, and the sauce didnβt drown the veal.
The service really stood out too. The servers were polite, attentive, and gave us space to enjoy our lunch without rushing us. Everything came out at a good pace and we felt genuinely taken care of.
Overall, it was a relaxed, enjoyable lunch with great food and great service. Definitely a place Iβd come back to without overthinking it.
Even in the busiest Saturday night dinner rush, their hospitality is unmatched to any other place in San Antonio. The owner Prince will come introduce himself and ensure you are having an amazing time, even though we already were. This reflects on the staff as a whole as they are very welcoming and friendly too. Joey can always help you figure out what you are craving and match your meal to your drink and hits it home every time. Zerina always wants to see my nails and praises my set every time I have new nails to show her. Thatβs even before you get to the food. All I have to say get the Bronx Pollo Parmigiana. Enough said.
Family and friends gathered last night for my grandson's 18th birthday. It was the first time for any of us to dine at Mare e Monte. We were taken care of and greeted by the owner and staff from the beginning. There were 12 of us and although the restaurant was full it only took about 30 min to be seated. The atmosphere is joyful, fun. Decorations (Valentines) are amazing. Joe and Isabella were our servers. They really took great care of us from getting food quickly for our little ones to serving birthday cake at the end of our meal and staff singing Happy Birthday in Italian at our table. So fun! We ordered several appetizers and main courses. We had our favorites among foods we ordered. The veal parmigiana was our favorite- and yes, they poured hot cheese over the veal at our table. Impressive! Thank you for taking such good care of us last night. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience at Mare e Monte!
Finally got to go for their dinner. There is always a long wait last time was 2 hours but it was the holidays.
Today was right at 45 minutes. Like Kevin always says if there isn't a wait on Saturday night probably not going to make it in the restaurant business.
Food was delicious definitely worth the wait.
We shared the Insalata Primavera and Pollo Bronx Parmigiana plus bread with dipping oil. Plus a couple of glasses of red wine π·
It's the best parmigiana I've ever had. It is a golden-crusted chicken breast topped with vodka sauce, melted mozzarella, and a touch of sweet heat from cherry peppers, served over rigatoni Alfredo and Broccolini.
They pour hot mozzarella on it right at your table. OMG!!
Highly recommend if you're in the area.
Staff was wonderful and very attentive with everything. Our bartender was on point too. Always checking in on us. We sat at the bar to wait but did eat the salad including bread. Then got a table for our main entree.
Water and bread continued to be taken care of.
Even the owner checked in on us twice once at the bar then seated at table. And thanked us again on way out of restaurant.
Food portions were a lot. We shared and still have left overs. I'm pretty full.
Best Italian I've had in a very long time.
I'm not sure if he's going to expand there or not. But I feel like they may outgrow that space.
But overall one of the top restaurants in my book.
Definitely will be back. Each time will have to try a new entree but that parmigiana rocked. π
Loved This place. Would recommend Pollo Bronx Parmigiana 100/10
Each dish was exceptional and reflected an impressive level of quality and care. The chicken Parmigiana was perfectly prepared, with a crisp golden crust, tender and juicy chicken, and a rich marinara topped with beautifully melted cheese that brought everything together flawlessly. The sole fish with scallops was elegant and expertly cookedβthe sole was light, flaky, and fresh, while the scallops were perfectly seared, buttery, and melt-in-your-mouth delicious. The rigatoni pasta was hearty and comforting, cooked to a perfect al dente texture and coated in a flavorful sauce that stood beautifully on its own.
What truly elevated the entire experience, though, was Allison. She was attentive, warm, and genuinely welcoming, making sure everything was perfect from start to finish. Her professionalism, kindness, and attention to detail made the meal feel special and well cared for, turning a great dinner into an outstanding dining experience.
The moment we entered the restaurant we were told βwelcome homeβ. Staff at the restaurant makes you feel like youβre dining in someoneβs home. The smells are fantastic. Our waiter, Ben, was so welcoming and wanted to know about us his new friends.
I had seen a couple videos about this restaurant on Instagram and had some ideas what I wanted to try. I was not ready for the stracciatella al Fuoco. This dish was wonderful. The cool of the Burrata mixing with a warm sauce was delicious. There was a spiciness to it and everyone at the table spooned it onto the crostini and devoured the dish.
A member of our dining party had the pollo Bronx Parmigiana. The videos on the Internet of the cheese being poured over the dish donβt do it justice to see in this live and in person.
The ravioli Mare e Monte is a delicious blend of lobster ravioli, and a sauce that has veal. Very tasty.
My wife enjoyed the sole oregenata which had a light and crispy crust with a delicious lemon butter sauce.
I had the Vitello alla Picatta. I normally donβt order veal, but on my waiters recommendation, I tried this dish. The veal was Very tender and cooked to perfection. The secret to this dish is the crispy capers!
We were all so stuffed but we couldnβt leave without trying the tiramisu. A wonderful way to end a great meal with friends.
I will recommend this restaurant to all my friends and I will make trip across town to dine here on a more regular basis.
Prince has done a fantastic job training his team to present the food with love. He pours so much into ensuring everyone has a high standard of service on all levels. Last night we shared the Bronx Parmigiana which has a nice kick in the sauce. They served it in two plates and added the cheese separately at the table. It was delicious! For dessert we had the Blueberry Cheesecake. The cheesecake never disappoints so please make sure to get this as itβs made with ricotta. What makes the experience so great is the owner Prince walks around and talks to everyone and says welcome home. It truly is a great dining experience.
Big tip- go early because there are no reservations and just know there is plenty of parking in the back.
Absolutely love the vibe, friendly staff and owner Prince is very hospitable and present! The Pollo Bronx Parmigiana is my favorite!
My wife and I got the Chicken Parmigiana. It was fantastic!!! Really cool how they take a pan of melted mozzarella cheese and pour it on top of the chicken; unique.
OMG
This place itβs soooooo cutesy and amazing.
The people are VERY WELCOMING and they look like they mean it!
Everyone itβs smiling and enjoying themselves.
We waited 30 minutes, which is nothing in San Antonio, plus it was WORTH THE WAIT - trust me!!! When we come inside the owner greeted us as a family member that you havenβt seen in years. We sit and no wait passed before the waitress came to get our drinks and food order.
The bread π - AMAZING π€©
The Bronx Pollo π Parmigiana - WOW π€―
they poor a gallon creamy tasty cheese π« π§ soooooooo good.
The homemade tiramisu???? - amazingly delicious and creamy π₯³π₯³π₯³π₯³π₯³
This is one of those hidden gems π in San Antonio.
The place is cozy and small but very clean.
I didnβt take too many pictures because I was so into the place.
But we will definitely be back!
Thank you Mr. Prince and your wonderful family / staff.
This is the first time that I have not had one downside to a restaurant. I could complain about the wait time but once I had the food I understand why there was a wait. When we were waiting, the owner, Prince, came out to apologize for the wait and just sat and chatted with us. Aside from his great service, the waitress was on point as well. We had 2 appetizers, theCarciofi al Tartufo and Adriatic Shrimp. Both were amamzing. For my main dish I had Pollo Bronx Parmigiana and I cant wait to have it again! 10 out of 10!
I came here for a birthday dinner with my family and found out what a gem this place is. The staff and manager were so kind and accommodating and really made us feel welcome. The food was incredible I can't wait to come back and try everything else I was considering on the menu. I highly recommend the Pollo Bronx Parmigiana and the Tiramisu! The place is a bit small but it doesn't feel like it whatsoever. The atmosphere was cozy and warm not stuffy or feeling too crowded. This has for sure taken the top spot for my favorite Italian restaurant in San Antonio.
Fantastic Italian Spot!
The wait was about 43 minutes, but my group didnβt mind. . We were outside chatting when someone from the staff surprised everyone by coming out with complimentary glasses of wine to make the wait more enjoyable. Such a thoughtful gesture!
Highly recommend this restaurant!!
Everything we tried was delicious. The Stracciatella al Fuoco appetizer was the standout: warm, creamy burrata over spicy Arrabbiata with crostini. A must-order.
Our table had the Pollo e Monte, Rigatoni Vodka, Salmone al Forno, and Pollo Bronx Parmigiana. EVERY dish was flavorful, well-seasoned, and beautifully prepared.
For dessert, the biscotti cheesecake is a must, and the tiramisu was delicious as well!
Service was great. Food was delicious. Definitely coming back. Pollo Bronx Parmigiana Pictured
First time walking into such a gem. We ordered the spicy calamari and it was to die for. Our entrees were so delectable. I ordered the lobster ravioli and added scallops to it. The sauce was so yummy and the raviolis were exquisite. My hubby ordered the Bronx pollo parmigiana which was beautiful with a light white spinach sauce. The chicken was very tasty. We are very happy to have found this lil piece of heaven. . We will be back because their service was impeccable. Salute!!!!
I am confused by the positive reviews compared to my experience. I feel mislead by these reviews. Letβs begin with customer experience, itβs frustrating for a multitude of reasons. First, the person who answers phone cannot answer questions about the menu. Because of that you are placed on hold for a server, whom was even more unhelpful. We asked about how to order a dish because it was confusing online. The confusion arises from the fact that you are shown a picture of the Bronx Pollo Parmigiana that has chicken topped with cheese and/or Alfredo sauce and noodles. However, itβs not clear whether you have to select all of the things it is suppose to come with one by one, or select things you want extra of. It is unclear what the dish comes with it automatically and what you must select. There is no selection for noodles, so at the very least it appears it comes with noodles automatically. We call to get these questions answered and clear up the confusion. The server told us, βI canβt really help you Iβd advise you to delete the app.β I think that takes the award for most unhelpful advice anyone has ever given me. I regret calling to clear up the confusion. Mind you, we asked what we were supposed to select and how the dish was served. We did not ask hard questions (or so we thought). That advice warranted an automatic hang up because you canβt fix stupid nor do I have the expertise to try.
Next, our food arrives and Iβm confused yet again. We receive two containers with very different things although we ordered the same entree and one piece of bread. One container resembles the photo advertised, breaded chicken cheese on top and noodles. Another container has three pieces of chicken, little red sauce on top no cheese, no noodles, no Alfredo. To be fair one order did select chicken, cheese and Alfredo sauce just to be safe incase it did not come with it, even though the picture includes all of those things. The other didnβt select anything and we just wanted the meal as is thinking it would resemble the photo. We thought possibly that the selections just meant adding extra of whatever we selected. But no matter how you read our order it doesnβt make sense with what we received. The noodles were not an option to select so both containers we assumed should have them. They didnβt. The entree that added extra chicken didnβt have the extra chicken with Alfredo sauce and cheese.
Because we thought there was a possibility we just ordered it incorrectly we decided to call again to make sure. We call and the person who answers canβt help with menu questions oddly again. She tries to find a server. We can hear her ask someone if they know the menu. The server explicitly states no I donβt know the menu either. We are assuming a server because she said she would find a server to answer our menu questions. They put us on hold realizing we can hear them speaking to each other. Then the phone cuts in and out, eventually just hanging up. Obviously, this is incredibly frustrating as we are confused, not understanding where our order went wrong, and now have to fix our entrees because what we received is subpar.
At the very least the food is okay and not worth almost 70$. Id advise others to just go to North Italia. Additionally, even if the food was amazing (which let me be clear itβs not) the customer service still wouldnβt make it worth 70$. The service earns the prestige award of βmost unhelpful customer serviceβ of 2025. If you guys are interested in receiving your trophy give me a call.
Perfect place for a date night!! Loved the atmosphere- cozy, great ambianceβ¦warm and inviting. Dinner was delicious! I ordered the salmon and hubby ordered chicken parmigiana. For dessert the blueberry cheesecake was AMAZING! The entire staff was friendly and attentive- including the ownerβ¦made us feel like family βΊοΈ Definitely will be coming back!!
Absolutely AMAZING!! Everything about my experience was incredible. Phenomenal service, Edwin was attentive and extremely thoughtful. The owner, Prince, greeted us and truly made us feel at home. Everyone on the staff made us feel so comfortable and our happiness was their main priority.
The food, just as amazing. We shared a Caesar salad, and I had the Pollo Bronx Parmigiana and my partner had the ravioli! The mascato wine was sweet and delicious. I was 1000% satisfied! I will be back!
Everything was incredible. We ordered the Calamari all' Arrabbiata, Sole Oregenata with scallops, Bronx Pollo Parmigiana and the tiramisu. We loved everything. Paired with a bottle of Cabernet, we couldnβt be happier or more full. An absolute gem in the city. I canβt wait to come back with my hubby!
LOVE LOVE!! My husband and I loved the pollo bronx parmigiana and orecchiette di terra! The owner and staff were so sweet and even customized the dish, making it extra special. This is a go-to spot for Italian food!!
Excellent food and service. I ordered the chefβs favorites and did not disappoint. The eggplant parmigiana and ravioli was amazing. Nice family atmosphere. Canβt wait to bring my friends.
Joe was an excellent server! Attentive but not pushy. Chicken piccata & Pollo Bronx Parmigiana were delicious!!
I didnβt even get pics this time because we inhaled our food π we again came today for my daughterβs birthday. Every time we go, the service and food are just exceptional! The pollo Bronx parmigiana is my go-to and is always super good. My daughter likes the fried calamari and appreciates that itβs not β99% tentaclesβ like a lot of other places. And the service, from the hosts to the waiters to the other staff just walking by, is amazing. Not to mention the pricing is on point. I donβt feel ripped off after coming here and always have to take a to-go box since the portions are so filling. Donβt skip this place!!
Our family visited for a late lunch on Friday 18 July. Our server was Joe and he was prompt, attentive, and very knowledgeable about wine and the menu. The gnocchi was delicious. The sole oregenata was buttery goodness and the Bronx Pollo Parmigiana was excellent. We look forward to our next visit.
The food and service were excellent. Our waiter (Joe) attended our every need. We were never for want of his availability. He was ever present without hovering. We had the Vitello Bronx Parmigiana and the Lasagne al Forno. Both excellent. The mileau was comfortable with a quaint since of Italy. Conversation was easily made with a low background sound.
The food was amazing! I had the Bronx Pollo Parmigiana and the portions were huge. Best Italian food Iβve had! The owner was amazing and friendly.
We went here for my birthday, I wanted some seafood and pasta!! After reviewing the menu online I was so excited to try this place.
However when we got here the parking was, not ideal, to say the least. I really wish there were better signs for the parking but that's the only reason I'm not giving the 5 stars.
We ordered Asparagus Fries for an appetizer they had a bit of spice but were so tender and flavorful and the yogurt dip was delicious!
I ordered the Lobster Ravioli Mare e Monte with Shrimp, the shrimp was tender, soft and pink, the ravioli was filled with delicious savory lobster meat and the sauce was titch but not over.
My husband ordered the Bronx Pollo Parmigiana (Chicken Parmesan) the chicken was tender, juicy and flavorful, had a nice bit of a mouth and just made you want to eat more. The spicy chicken paired perfectly with the creamy sauce.
We also ordered the Tiramisu and cannolis to go. The tiramisu was rich and decadent , the cannolis shell was flaky yet held together, the cream inside was indulgent. Even though we had to take it home it was so wonderful.
Another thing that made this place wonderful, is the owner came around to every table, shook our hand and made sure we knew it's like a family and whatever we needed he made sure to make it happen. You can definitely feel the family home cooked Italian vibes.
Will definitely come back, and can't wait to try more.
We had an amazing dinner at Mare e Monte and loved every bite! The Ocean City Crab Cakes were the perfect startβcrispy on the outside, packed with lump crabmeat, and paired with a tangy remoulade that gave them just the right kick.
The Seafood Risotto was creamy and flavorful, loaded with shrimp, scallops, and pieces of delicate sole. You could really taste the care that went into it, and the cherry tomatoes and Parmigiano on top pulled it all together beautifully.
The Vitello Bronx Parmigiana was next-level comfort foodβtender veal with a crispy breading, smothered in a rich vodka sauce and gooey mozzarella. The spicy cherry peppers added a great little heat, and the fettuccine Alfredo it was served on was rich and delicious.
We finished the night with the blueberry cheesecake, and wowβso good! Creamy, not too sweet, and the blueberry topping was super fresh. It was the perfect ending to a fantastic meal.
The service was friendly and attentive, and the whole atmosphere just felt warm and welcoming. Mare e Monte is definitely going on our list of go-to spots in San Antonio. Highly recommend!
Upon arrival we were seated right away. Our waiter was friendly and personable. The food from the Calamari, Chicken Parmigiana, Pollo Scarpariello, Duck fat potatoes, garlic mashed potatoes to Blueberry Cheese was delicious! The service and attentiveness of the staff on a late Saturday night was great! We will definitely be back. Iβm sure whatever you choose will be great! Thank you for an awesome experience.
Bronx pollo parmigiana was excellent. Owner is a total baller. Look forward to going again.
So glad we came! Wonderful atmosphere, with a taste of Europe. We were seated by the beautiful moon wall art piece. Our wait staff was very kind and attentive. Our drinks and food came very quickly. Everything was delicious. We had the Salata Primavera, Pollo E Monte, Bronx Pollo Parmigiana, and Blueberry Cheesecake. The staff even sang me Happy Birthday when they delivered our dessert, which was so thoughtful and kind!
My husband and I had an amazing time at Mare e Monte! We were seated immediately upon our arrival. The hostess was very welcoming. Our server was Lucky and he was very hospitable and attentive. We had the meatballs as an appetizer and they were so delicious! They were fork-tender and were complemented well by the onions in the sauce. I was celebrating my birthday in San Antonio and wanted Italian cuisine. I ordered the Vitello Bronx Parmigiana and my husband had the lamb chops. Iβll start with his selection. The lamb was cooked as requested and seasoned to perfection. He wanted to eat the meat from the bone! LOL!! The veal reminded me of when my grandmother would cook paneed veal on Sundays. It was also seasoned well along with the creamy tomato sauce that topped it. I canβt say enough about how delicious and fresh everything was and Lucky made our visit all the more special by offering to take our picture. Thank you all for a great time. If youβre looking for good Italian fare, look no further!
The food was delicious and the service outstanding. The carciofi de tartfu was a great appetizer. The salmon AlForno was great, the sauce gave it a perfect taste. The chicken alfredo my son would not stop talking about it. My husband had the Pollo Bronx Parmigiana, for him not being a pasta fan he ate every bite. I definitely recommend this place.
All those 5 star reviews are correct! Delish, well crafted food. Excellent service. Elegant but casual atmosphere.
We went for Linner (around 3:30) on a Saturday. There were more diners than expected at that time, but not too crowded. We love that the menu has creative twists to traditional italian dishes. You can also change out potato for pasta on dishes, etc.
We were happy with the starter--fried asparagus--lightly crunchy, great flavor. The Bronx Pollo Parmigiana & Pork Chop Remo were outstanding. The Alfredo on pasta was perfect, pungent cheese & thick. Also, soft sour dough served with flavorful spiced olive oil.
Fairly extensive wine list & we enjoyed a moderately priced Italian red.
The owner came by to chat & and the waiter was attentive. We liked that the waiter paced the meal, so we enjoyed each course to the fullest. Leftovers were just as good next day!
Serena was great because she anticipated our needs. We ordered the bronx chicken parmigiana for my Mother and she recommended we put the cherry peppers on the side due to my Mom being sensitive to spiciness. She ended up absolutely loving the chicken parmegiana with the creamy sauce on the rigatoni! The atmosphere with the music was calming yet also very upbeat. The lobster ravioli was amazing! The best I've ever had! 10/10 food, 10/10 atmosphere and 10/10 service!
Now all the 5 star reviews make perfect sense. We were greeted by the sweetest host and each and every person who worked there that we came in contact with truly made us feel like they were so happy we were there. Such a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
Not only was the service impressive but the FOOD! We had the lasagna with meat sauce and pollo parmigiana- Delicious! Everything tasted so fresh and cooked to perfection.
Dessert- Blueberry Cheesecake was to die for and Tiramisu was so light and perfectly sweetened.
We will absolutely be back!
My husband and I went to Mare e Monte for the first time tonight for a date night, and were very pleased with our dining experience! Our waitress, Gabriela, was very attentive and even gave us suggestions for our dinner plates and our desserts. We got an order of bruschetta for our appetizer and it was delicious. My husband ordered the Pollo Marsala plate and I ordered The Bronx Pollo Parmigiana plate. Both of these dinner items were great choices. I especially loved how tender the chicken was in my Bronx Pollo Parmigiana plate. For dessert, we shared an order of cannolis (3 come in an order). We were surprised with how busy this restaurant was for a Wednesday evening (but were able to be seated immediately). We were pleasantly greeted (felt very welcomed) when we entered the restaurant and told goodbye by several of the employees when we exited. From start to finish, this was a five star experience. We will definitely be going back to this restaurant again.
Mare e Monte delivered an exceptional dining experience with delicious food and outstanding service. The lobster ravioli was rich and flavorful, the veal parmigiana was perfectly cooked, and the tiramisu was a delightful finish to the meal. The staff were attentive and welcoming, making the evening even more enjoyable. Highly recommend for anyone looking for quality Italian cuisine in a warm and inviting atmosphere!
Found this restaurant by accident, and weβre so glad we did. Our server Joshua was very helpful in explaining the menu and recommendations. We ordered calamari, Caesar salad, Bronx parmigiana, lasagna, and Sole w/risotto. All the food was delicious. I highly recommend this spot.
Everything was wonderful! The food was spectacular and the service was even better. I had Pollo Bronx Parmigiana π€π». My husband had the lasagna with meatball. Both dishes were delicious! Feels like youβre in another city. The owner came by our table several times. Zerina was our server and she was very attentive and sweet. I HIGHLY recommend this place. Canβt wait to come back!
Excellent service waiter was extremely attentive and friendly. Food came within a reasonable amount of time considering we were a party of 11 and it was delicious. I got the Bronx Pollo Parmigiana and enjoyed it very much. Owner came by introduced himself thanked us for coming, then came by again once we received our food to make sure everything matched our expectations. We will definitely be going back.
Came in for lunch, was immediately sat despite them being busy. The owner I presume came by to greet us and apologized for the wait when to be honest there wasnβt really much of a wait but it was very appreciated. He also stated to try anything and if I donβt love it he would get me anything else I want, which immediately made me feel comfortable in trying something new.
I tried the parmigiana with rigatoni and it was fantastic. This restaurant has changed my POV of parmigiana, in a positive way.
I have been to another pasta place that I will not name because of the relevancy of this review, but this restaurant blows it out of the water completely.
I am surprised I have never heard of this place if it werenβt for me doom scrolling on maps one day reading food reviews lol. I think the only variable that may affect this place discoverability is that it is sanctioned in a strip mall. Personally, I donβt give many new places a try within strip malls, but this experience has also changed that perspective.
If you are reading this, TRY THIS RESTAURANT. Iβll be back for sure.
Food was fabulous. We had Asparagus fries as an appetizer. For our entrees, I had the Sole and my brother had the chicken Parmigiana. We had tiramisu for dessert. Restaurant was very clean, staff very friendly. The owner came in and greeted everyone, shook our hands, asked about our experience and thanked everyone for coming in to eat. This is definitely how to run a business! Everyone should give this restaurant your business. We will definitely be back, and weβre from Corpus Christi π₯°
We visited Mare e Monte Italian Restaurant for the first time today. We were welcomed as soon as we walked in and taken to our table. We ordered the crab cakes and meatballs as an appetizer. They were absolutely delicious. The veal parmigiana and chicken Marsala were also delicious. The service was outstanding. We are definitely returning. This is now our neighborhood Italian restaurant.
We had the lasagna and the bronx pollo parmigiana. Their bread is so good! Itβs a nice environment and the food is delicious. The price is a little high but the food is worth it.
Beautiful restaurant. I took my mom here for lunch. The service is top notch! I had the Bronx pollo parmigiana. This my favorite dish. My mom had lasagna. We shared the grilled artichokes and fried artichokes. Tiramisu for dessert.Everything was delicious.
This was an interesting yet very satisfying experience. We entered through the rear of the restaurant, a bit different but it allowed us to see more of the space. Very nice and cozy. Some holiday decor but not much. It wasnβt loud or library silent . We were immediately seated by the owner, who greeted us with welcome home. He sat us in the front. It was nice. Several tables around with other couples/groups engaged in conversation. The staff was dressed neatly and looked like they enjoyed their jobs. Our waiter was very nice and pretty quick. We enjoyed some complementary bread and butter. Bread was deliciously fresh and had good flavor. We were given just enough to hold us through ordering, which was great because we were totally looking forward to our entree. We split a CΓ©sar salad and it was good. It took us a while to decide what to order, the menu had many attractive options. I selected the Ravioli Mare e Monte, because I LOVE ravioli. The sauce was so creamy and tasty. I would definitely order this again. My hunny ordered the highly recommended Bronx Pollo Parmigiana. Wasnβt really his thing. He said the flavors were hit or miss and it just didnβt look appealing. He doesnβt typically have a fried meat with his pasta. The owner noticed almost immediately this was not the dish for my love. So he offered to prepare something else. He selected the Lasagne al Forno. BEST DECISION! So good. The tomatoes in the meat sauce were so flavorful. There was a sweetness that said IM FRESH and was chopped by hand. Lol. I will definitely order that the next time! We donβt usually take home leftovers but that came home. It was so filling. It was even good when we reheated it. Our food came out a little fast but management noticed and quickly took action. We were able to sit and enjoy our food and the environment, no need to rush. We left the establishment feeling like it was money well spent. We will absolutely return.
Absolutely amazing. Best chicken parmigiana I have ever had. Tiramisu was excellent. The service is outstanding!
We had the Bronx Pollo Parmigiana and the Sole Oregenata, and both were absolutely excellent. The service was top notch and the owner came out to check on us himself multiple times. Will be returning!
We visited on Wed., Oct 23, 2024. The owner, Prince, took time to personally visit our table and speak to us. He was very pleasant and genuinely grateful for our patronage. Zerina, our really pleasant and personable waitress, was well-versed on the menu and was able to offer useful suggestions to assist in our decision making. We ordered the Sole Oreganata with spinach and asparagus risotto. It was heavenly. The bread (and dipping oil) was warm, perfectly soft with a crunchy crust, and so delicious. We easily could have made a meal on the bread and oil alone. We had a side of eggplant parmigiana which didnβt disappoint. I personally couldβve used a little more salt in it, but that was also what made it different: it WASNβT over salted. They offer desserts, which we toyed with trying, but honestly, we were WAY too full to order dessert. Iβm sure itβs amazing if the meals are any indication. We will definitely return to Mare e Monte. Thank you, Prince, for opening in San Antonio.
Delicious-we had the meatballs appetizer-chicken parmigiana-chicken Marsala, garlic mashed potatoes and spinach. Everything was perfect. Will be back
Amazing food and service! The Bronx Vitello Parmigiana and the Lobster Ravioli were some of the best Italian meals we have had. Will 100% be visiting again soon.
The best Italian in SA! Food was wonderful!! We ordered the veal piccata, chicken parmesan, a side of eggplant parmigiana and a caesar salad. The owner came in to greet us. We felt like we had homemade food. Ambiance is very nice. White tablecloths and nice napkins. They offered us complementary wine. My favorite was the Caesar salad and the chicken Parmesan. Wonderful music and great service.
Highly reccomend!!!
Not sure where to start, the amazing service or the food...
Came here for a Sunday lunch. Upon walking in, about 5 staff were standing by the door welcoming every guest and seating them at the table of their choice. Owner immediately came over to greet us and insisted we let him know if anything was not perfect from the food, service, ambiance, lighting, etc... He also told us about the meaning and history of him opening the restaurant and how much it means to him for every guest to be 100% satisfied. Lastly, he told us about the menu concept and gave some recommendations. Wow, all this was before the service started.
Zerina was our server and she immediately came over and was just as pleasant, friendly, and helpful. Ordered a few glasses of wine while looking over the menu.
For appetizers, ordered the Calamari Fritti and Shrimp Oreganata. For the meal, ordered the Sole Oreganata, Pasta Al Nero, Bronx Pollo Parmigiana, and Eggplant Permesan as a shared side. For dessert, ordered Tiramisu and a Chocolate Caramel Cake.
Every course was perfectly timed as had plenty of time to finish each dish without having to wait a long time for the next. Every dish was perfectly plated in every detail. Most importantly, every dish tasted amazing. Everyone tried each dish and was equally as impressed. I would've been happy with any dish as my main meal.
I can't say which was better, the food or the service. Probably the most genuine, authentic, and personal service I've had in San Antonio. This has quickly become a go to and I'd highly recommend coming here.
We ordered the meatballs, calamari, lobster ravioli, and Bronx pollo parmigiana. Everything was delicious! The bread was amazing! It had to be freshly baked. They also must make their pastas from scratch, so they are better than any pasta youβll get anywhere else. Also, the owner was so kind. He stopped by every table to check in and make sure everyone was enjoying their food. He seemed genuinely interested in anything the guests had to say, so he could improve the restaurant. The restaurant is small, so I would definitely go early if you can. It seemed to fill up around dinner time. Iβll definitely be back!
My fiancΓ© found this little gem for our date night. I was delighted from the moment we walked in. Such a cute spot and the staff was extremely attentive. We ordered the Bronx pollo parmigiana and its was different but in all the best possible ways. Spicy and very flavorful. Will defiantly be recommending to all our friends. 10/10 and prefer this to Olive Garden!
Second time here. Ordered Sole Oregenata and Bronx Vitello Parmigiana with Carciofi al Tartufo (artichoke hearts) as an appetizer. Flavorful and perfectly seasoned. Great portion sizes. The service and atmosphere are excellent.
My mom took me here for lunch yesterday for my birthday. I picked it because of great reviews, and I wanted to try somewhere new. The reviews were correct! So worth the 20+ minute drive.
5 stars! Delicious food, great service, and nice atmosphere (very clean, simple, and cozy with quietly playing Italian music in the background, as to elevate the experience but not overpower).
We were seated right away by a friendly and smiling young man. When our waiter, Jesse, came to the table, he was great! He was very sweet, professional, and answered our questions. He made sure our drinks were filled the entire time, and he verified what we ordered to make sure it was to our liking. He also genuinely smiled the entire time, as did other staff! I love when people enjoy (or at least act like they enjoy) what they do for a living. Thatβs rare nowadays.
Our food was fresh, hot, and delicious. We received a basket of sliced bread and olive oil when we ordered. We both ordered the Bronx Pollo Parmigiana (I believe was the name). It was two nice sized pieces of lightly breaded chicken with fettuccine Alfredo. It should be enough for a person to eat the entire plate and be completely full, but I had leftovers for a second meal. Jesse came out and packaged my leftovers in front of me. We were too full to have dessert.
Before we left, either the owner or manager greeted us and verified that we enjoyed our meal. Everyone there was great. We thoroughly enjoyed everything. The genuine kindness and joy just put it over the top for us. We will definitely be back soon and bring more family! Thank you for such a great dining experience π
Wonderful food and very warm, friendly atmosphere. Even the bussers were eager to assist the patrons. Try the ravioli, pollo parmigiana, or anything for that matter, and Iβll bet you wonβt be disappointed.
So all I can say about the food critic for the San Antonio Express-News is that he was high on something that would make Tony Montana consider his life choices, because this restaurant is outstanding.
This was a great meal. Service was attentive and the space was cozy but with well spaced tables. I had the Bronx Pollo Parmigiana and I loved it! I would definitely order it again! Good parking in the back and parking in the front.
Amazing food! Was not sure what to expect but the Bronx parmigiana(?), was absolutely perfect π
100% coming back!
What a treat! I had the Pollo E Monte, exceeded my expectations. Delicious. My date had the Bronx Pollo Parmigiana, a new take on an old favorite, equally delicious. Now, the service, very, very good. Attentive but not intrusive. We shared the chef's take on Terra Misou, again perfect. We can't wait to go back.
Atmosphere, pleasant, I'd suggest some curtains or black-out on the windows.
Absolutely 5 star service with amazing food. We were welcomed and treated like family during our dinner. I had the Bronx parmigiana and my husband had the lasagne and added a meatball. Both were delicious. It was our first visit, but certainly not our last.
A life-changing experience. Every delectable dish was prepared so perfectly, it was a symphony in my mouth. Each bite of the pollo parmigiana was beautifully tender, enveloped in a thin, crispy crust of breading, infused with a soft cloud of zesty citrus, and grounded by its robust, meaty foundation. The service? Impeccable. The atmosphere? Unmatched. The owner personally greets each guest with the enthusiasm of a man who has found his true passion in life. Words feebly describe the inspiring meal that Mare e Monte guarantees. You wonβt be disappointed.
I took my husband to Mare E Monte for his birthday on Saturday. Our expectations were beyond exceeded! My husband had the Bronx Pollo Parmigiana, my son had Fettuccine di Parma with shrimp, and I had the Sole Oregenata. We also had calamari fritti and ravioli fritti as apps. The dishes were all so fresh, beautifully prepared, and melt in your mouth delicious! The Salted Caramel Chocolate cake was decadent! Our waitress was so friendly and attentive, as was the owner. We went in unsure of what to expect and left feeling like family! We will definitely be back!
We went here after reading about it quite a bit on the SA restaurant page on Fβbook.
We started with the Calamari AlβArribbata. That was a nice way to start off a meal, but we also wanted to save room for the mains. I wish that they had a half order but still it was very good.
The LOML (Love Of My Life) had the Sole Oreganata. She said it was one of the best meals sheβs ever had in her life! What I tasted of it, I agree that it was excellent. Soft and buttery fish that just melted in the mouth.
Meanwhile I had the Bronx Pollo Parmigiana. TWO chicken cutlets pounded thin, breaded, and covered with mozzarella and parmigiana cheese also the arrabbiata sauce with the cherry peppers (which had a flavor similar to little banana peppers) which worked well (imo) as the little bit of acid helped cut through the cheesiness.
For dessert we shared a White Chocolate Strawberry Tiramisu and the LOML had a coffee. At first I was a little afraid that it would be too sweet but that wasnβt the case at all, just the right amount, to help cleanse the palate after a great meal.
We will be back and, I at least, will be trying other things from the menu. On a side note as we were leaving, the manager or owner came up to us and thanked us for coming in and shook our hands. I thought that was a very thoughtful and kind gesture on his part.
My recent visit to "Mare e Monte" was yet another fantastic dining experience, with Princ, the owner, proving once again why he is a standout in the service industry. His attentive and jovial nature made our evening exceptionally pleasant. This time, I chose the Pollo alla Piccata, which was cooked to perfection with a delightful balance of flavors. My friends savored their choices as well, including the tender lamb chops and Bronx Pollo Parmigiana. We topped off our meal with the decadent Caramel Chocolate Cake with sea salt, a sweet treat that was both moist and rich. Each visit confirms my decision to make "Mare e Monte" my favorite spot in San Antonio.
Visiting "Mare e Monte" last Friday was an exceptional experience, highlighted by the owner, Princ, whose kindness and attentiveness are unmatched. Princ is easily the most genuine and entertaining member of the service industry I've ever encountered. The lamb chops I ordered were supremely tender, melting in the mouth with every bite. My friends enjoyed the Pollo alla Piccata and Bronx Pollo Parmigiana, both of which were prepared to perfection and bursting with flavor. We ended our meal with the Caramel Chocolate Cake with sea salt on top, a delightfully moist and flavorful dessert that was the perfect finale to our dining experience. Princ's personal touch made the evening special, and I am eager to make "Mare e Monte" my go-to spot whenever I'm in San Antonio.
We came to celebrate Mother's Day, early. Ardit provided amazing and attentive service. We started of with the meatballs, calamari fritti, and the artichoke as appetizers. They were delicious. I had the Pollo e Monte, and my wife had the Bronx Pollo Parmigiana. I have to say this is the best Italian meal I've had. We topped the meal off with dessert of Caramel Chocolate Cake with Sea Salt, and a Vanilla, Chocolate, Strawberry Tiramisu. Also amazing. The whole atmosphere is very inviting and fun. The entire staff made sure we had everything we needed. This is going yo become our go to place for Italian.
This place awesome. The service couldnβt have been better. The food was delicious too. You could tell everything was made from scratch. San Antonio was in need of a real deal Italian restaurant and this place delivered. We will definitely be going back. I highly recommend the Calamari allβarrabbita as a starter. The Bronx Pollo Parmigiana was also top notch. I felt the prices were also very reasonable given the quality of the food.
Ardit is an amazing waiter. I think this is the best Italian Restaurant in Texas . Chicken parmigiana was amazing, lamp chops also . Canβt wait to be back βοΈ
Mare E Monte Italian Restaurant is a culinary masterpiece, deserving of a Michelin star.
I had the privilege of indulging in the Bronx Pollo Parmigiana, which exceeded my expectations. The lightly breaded chicken was pan-fried to perfection, topped with a rich vodka sauce, fresh mozzarella, and cherry peppers, served alongside Fettuccine Alfredo. The combination was divine.
But the true showstopper was the Pasta Lasagne al Forno, a dish that redefined the classic lasagna. Homemade pasta sheets were layered with a rich Italian sausage Bolognese, mozzarella, ricotta, and bΓ©chamel, creating a harmonious balance of flavors and textures.
Each bite was a testament to the chef's skill and dedication to traditional Italian cuisine, using only the freshest ingredients to create a truly authentic experience. The service was attentive and knowledgeable, making for a memorable dining experience.
In short, Mare E Monte Italian Restaurant is a must-visit destination for any food enthusiast in San Antonio. With its commitment to traditional Italian cuisine and exceptional service, it's no wonder this restaurant deserves a Michelin star. I eagerly await my next visit to indulge in more of their culinary masterpieces!
