By far the best Italian restaurant I’ve tried in San Antonio. Came in on a busy day after Valentine’s Day and it did not disappoint. Well worth the wait. From the creamy Alfredo to the flavor packed Bronx Pollo Parmigiana, every bite was delicious. Their tiramisu is probably the best one in the city and their wine selection is niche and affordable !

If you’re looking for the perfect Valentine’s dinner spot, Mare e Monte absolutely delivers. 🌹🍝 From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm, romantic, and inviting — the kind of place that makes the evening feel special before you even sit down. The owners were incredibly attentive, personally checking in and making sure everything was perfect. You can tell they truly care about the experience, not just the food. The service? Top tier. Every member of the wait staff was friendly, professional, and clearly working together as a team. It felt seamless — no awkward waits, no confusion, just smooth and thoughtful service all night. Now let’s talk about the food… The Fettuccine de Parma was rich, creamy, and perfectly balanced — every bite packed with flavor. The Spicy Rigatoni had just the right kick, bold and satisfying without overpowering the dish. Both were cooked to perfection and tasted incredibly fresh. And whatever you do… do not skip the tiramisu. It was the perfect sweet finish — light, decadent, and easily one of the best I’ve had. Mare e Monte made our Valentine’s dinner unforgettable. Amazing food, exceptional service, and a genuine hospitality you don’t find everywhere. We’ll definitely be back. ❤️✨

Excellent service and extremely tasty appetizers, entrees and Tiramisu! We’ve now been twice and enjoyed our second visit just as much as our first. We will continue to go back and try new things. Everything so far has been delicious.

Has such a wonderful atmosphere, fun Valentine decorations, and such a kind owner! The food was incredible, I don't think I have been this full for a long time because I just couldn't stop eating, the food was THAT good. If they have their strawberry tiramisu... DO NOT SKIP!! 🍰

We weren't even hungry and we had one of our best dining experiences of the past three years. It was our 3rd anniversary and we came here on the advice of a friend... and what good advice it was! We started with stracciatella al fuoco, which was fantastic. My wife had the sole, I had lamb chops, and for both of us, the selections were the best we've had of these dishes (in her words, she didn't think fish could taste this good). We finished with tiramisu that was out of this world. Truly one of the best, if not THE best, Italian restaurants available in San Antonio. The restaurant itself was cute, and our server (Fati) was extremely attentive, even to bringing my wife warm wine (she has a tooth sensitivity this weekend) which, to use her words, was excellent.

Server was very attentive, felt very welcomed for it being my first time here. Food was delicious. The Alfredo was so creamy and the tiramisu was so light and wonderful. Loved the service and decorations are so cute.

We waited about an hour for a table last night and it was absolutely worth it. The service was incredible and the food was beyond delicious. Hands down the best Italian food I have ever had. The fish and risotto dish was heavenly. Best tiramisu I have ever had. Everything we ordered was incredible.

The moment we entered the restaurant we were told “welcome home“. Staff at the restaurant makes you feel like you’re dining in someone’s home. The smells are fantastic. Our waiter, Ben, was so welcoming and wanted to know about us his new friends. I had seen a couple videos about this restaurant on Instagram and had some ideas what I wanted to try. I was not ready for the stracciatella al Fuoco. This dish was wonderful. The cool of the Burrata mixing with a warm sauce was delicious. There was a spiciness to it and everyone at the table spooned it onto the crostini and devoured the dish. A member of our dining party had the pollo Bronx Parmigiana. The videos on the Internet of the cheese being poured over the dish don’t do it justice to see in this live and in person. The ravioli Mare e Monte is a delicious blend of lobster ravioli, and a sauce that has veal. Very tasty. My wife enjoyed the sole oregenata which had a light and crispy crust with a delicious lemon butter sauce. I had the Vitello alla Picatta. I normally don’t order veal, but on my waiters recommendation, I tried this dish. The veal was Very tender and cooked to perfection. The secret to this dish is the crispy capers! We were all so stuffed but we couldn’t leave without trying the tiramisu. A wonderful way to end a great meal with friends. I will recommend this restaurant to all my friends and I will make trip across town to dine here on a more regular basis.

Amazing atmosphere. The place was decked out for Christmas with garland everywhere and a large tree in the middle of the room. The organ decor is unique and comforting. And the food! This is one of few places we have found a thin Italian lasagna noodle like you would get in Italy. I didn’t check their website, but the most make their pasta in house. My wife had the lasagna and I had the Bronx chicken parm - this had table side mozzarella drizzled over the dish from a frying pan. Great presentation. The staff are congenial and you don’t wait long for anything. They all wear the US flag on their T-shirt. The manager came by and said hello to every table. My tiramisu was a delight. We will definitely be back.

A fantastic dining experience! The ambiance was fantastic. The owner, Prince, was super hospitable and friendly, and greeted us from the second we were there. The food tasted very fresh and came out promptly. The tiramisu was probably the best I’ve ever had.

OMG This place it’s soooooo cutesy and amazing. The people are VERY WELCOMING and they look like they mean it! Everyone it’s smiling and enjoying themselves. We waited 30 minutes, which is nothing in San Antonio, plus it was WORTH THE WAIT - trust me!!! When we come inside the owner greeted us as a family member that you haven’t seen in years. We sit and no wait passed before the waitress came to get our drinks and food order. The bread 🍞 - AMAZING 🤩 The Bronx Pollo 🍗 Parmigiana - WOW 🤯 they poor a gallon creamy tasty cheese 🫕 🧀 soooooooo good. The homemade tiramisu???? - amazingly delicious and creamy 🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳 This is one of those hidden gems 💎 in San Antonio. The place is cozy and small but very clean. I didn’t take too many pictures because I was so into the place. But we will definitely be back! Thank you Mr. Prince and your wonderful family / staff.

I cannot say enough, good things about the food, the service and the wonderful atmosphere. I know I just found my favorite restaurant where I will bring my family time and time again. A place that feels like home. The tiramisu was the best I have ever had in my life and all of the food was no less than perfection.

This place is a true gem. The food is delicious. Our waitress was the best ever. You get treated like family, greeted literally "Welcome home!". The valpolicella was so smooth. The tiramisu needs Amaretto (inside joke for our waitress). But seriously, go see for yourself. Your taste buds will thank you!

Celebrating my 73rd birthday at this Italian restaurant was one of the best dining experiences I've had in quite a while. The hospitality was topnotch. I got there much earlier than the rest of my party so I offered to wait in my car to avoid tying up a table others could use. The hostesses, Selena & Brenna (sorry if I got her name wrong) graciously invited me to come inside, offered me a seat, a menu, and something to drink. It was late afternoon so the place wasn't full yet but that changed pretty quickly. When the rest of my party of five arrived, they were warmly welcomed like we had been there many times before (all of us were first-time guests). The owner, Prince, came by and welcomed us, assuring us that we are to be treated like family & if something we ordered didn't live up to our expectations, they will do their best to make it right. Another gentleman came by later during our meal to check on us. Now, let's talk about the food. For appetizers, we had the calamari, crabcakes, & insalata caprese. Those were gone in no time, a flavorful introduction to luscious meal. Each of us ordered something different so we could all have a taste of each other's dish. Between us, we had the lamb chops (tender & well-seasoned), the squid ink pasta (uncommon fare but very tasty), the Chicken Piccata, & the Fettucini di Parma (both delicious & quite filling, making our tummies gurgle with joy). I had the Sole Oregenata, a sweet, flaky fish served over asparagus risotto, with scallops added on the side). That was so perfectly done I would order it again next time. Of course, we had to make room for dessert. We shared cheesecake Biscoff, blueberry cheesecake, & cannolis. My tiramisu came with a candle and a Happy Birthday song sung in Italian. All were so rich & flavorful, a perfect ending to a perfect meal. Shout out to our server, who introduced herself as 'Melania as in lasagna". She checked on us frequently, refilled our water many times over, & took care of our every need. A wonderful time was had by all! Thank you!

I came here for a birthday dinner with my family and found out what a gem this place is. The staff and manager were so kind and accommodating and really made us feel welcome. The food was incredible I can't wait to come back and try everything else I was considering on the menu. I highly recommend the Pollo Bronx Parmigiana and the Tiramisu! The place is a bit small but it doesn't feel like it whatsoever. The atmosphere was cozy and warm not stuffy or feeling too crowded. This has for sure taken the top spot for my favorite Italian restaurant in San Antonio.

Cozy, classy, delicious! The owners and staff make you feel welcome, friendly and genuine in their thanks of you being there. The Calamari Fritti was a delicious start, followed by Pollo Fontina that I will be thinking about and attempting to recreate for a long time, topped off by a delicious tiramisu. The atmosphere is comfortable, chatter filled, and warm. It’s like being a friend’s home for dinner. Loved it, would recommend to anyone and everyone. Thank you for a wonderful dining experience!

Fantastic Italian Spot! The wait was about 43 minutes, but my group didn’t mind. . We were outside chatting when someone from the staff surprised everyone by coming out with complimentary glasses of wine to make the wait more enjoyable. Such a thoughtful gesture! Highly recommend this restaurant!! Everything we tried was delicious. The Stracciatella al Fuoco appetizer was the standout: warm, creamy burrata over spicy Arrabbiata with crostini. A must-order. Our table had the Pollo e Monte, Rigatoni Vodka, Salmone al Forno, and Pollo Bronx Parmigiana. EVERY dish was flavorful, well-seasoned, and beautifully prepared. For dessert, the biscotti cheesecake is a must, and the tiramisu was delicious as well!

This was incredible. The service the food the restaurant! So glad we came this is our new go to Italian restaurant. Calamari was fresh , salads were cold and creamy, the entrees were tasty and delicious and tiramisu was terrific! Thank you for such a great experience all the way around!

I would have stopped to take a picture but for food that is this delicious, there is no waiting. We had the Bronx chicken parm and the tiramisu and it was absolutely amazing. I can't wait to try more of their menu. The service is the absolute best I've had since I moved to San Antonio. We ordered through door dash and the dasher gave us the wrong order. In my experience when this happens the restaurants offer little help and tell you to go through door dash to have the order fixed. We did try to rectify the situation through door dash and it was going to take an hour for them to make a decision to refund us. We called Mare E Monte just on the chance they could help. The owner personally brought us our food!!! He is truly outstanding especially since this was the dashers fault for picking up the wrong order. They really do treat you like family. If you have not eaten here, I HIGHLY recommend it. This is my new go to spot for italian food.

Very impressed with this restaurant. People are so friendly, as is the owner. Food is absolutely delicious, made with quality ingredients. Our waitress Michaela was wonderful. Definitely will be returning. We had the artichoke appetizer, so good and tender. My husband had the bronx pollo which is chicken parm, very good. I had the fettuccine with chicken, also excellent. The bread and oil dip were also very good, had to ask for seconds! And to end the night, we had the tiramisu. Very airy and light . Highly recommend

The staff were amazing and made sure that everything was good. However the chicken piccata was a bit disappointing. The chicken did not have much flavors and was overfried; the pasta was way too oily, and the capers were toasty fried. I also did not taste much of the tangy lemon butter sauce, which could’ve cut down the oily taste from the dish. Otherwise the tiramisu was delicious, and the calamari was good.

A great experience topped with great food and excellent service. Joe, thanks for your recommendations and attention during our date night. We were looking for a date night location, on a Saturday, which mean a reservation or a long wait. Mar e Monte do not take reservations but have yelp alternatives to get in queue, which was an excellent alternative to limit our wait time (i.e. 5 mins). From the staff checking us in, to the vibe, all worked to make for a great experience. We had chicken a la bronx, and the steak alla fiorentine, a tiramisu and a Moscato. We will be returning.

Everything was incredible. We ordered the Calamari all' Arrabbiata, Sole Oregenata with scallops, Bronx Pollo Parmigiana and the tiramisu. We loved everything. Paired with a bottle of Cabernet, we couldn’t be happier or more full. An absolute gem in the city. I can’t wait to come back with my hubby!

This restaurant is amazing! We were a table of 5 and our food came out in less than 10 minutes. The food tasted very fresh and homemade. We also ordered the biscoff cheesecake and tiramisu that are both to die for!! Highly recommend this Italian restaurant!!!

Came here for my birthday with my family. Holy cow, what an experience! The Calamari Arrabiata was insane! As were the crab cakes! The lobster ravioli was delicious. My family loved the pork chops, the lamb chops, and the pasta Nero. The staff was courteous, prompt, and even funny! The place is clean and the atmosphere is pleasant. They sang Happy Birthday to me and brought out THE most delicious Tiramisu and Blueberry Cheesecake. 10 out of 10! Highly recommend!!

It’s our fist time here and we literally love ❤️ the place. The staff the food could be a little better was great but could be better ( more spices like oregano and black pepper for instance it’s Italian food ) other than that was great the tiramisu is one of the best I’d tried even on real Italian places with Italian owners in orlando and here! And one of the best things we saw and we love ❤️ is that the owners were there and will be more success! The decoration was beautiful and cozy! We will be back for sure!

Stopped in for dinner tonight for my husbands birthday. We had lobster ravioli, lamb chops, caprese and tiramisu. Everything was amazing, food was top notch and came out so quickly, service was great. Everything was reasonably priced and the owner stopped by and had a lovely conversation with us after our meal. We will definitely be back!

The food. Outstanding. The service. On point. Came here with one of my good friends who's visiting San Antonio and we both loved it. Highly recommend the gnocchi bolognese for your entree and the tiramisu for dessert. Staff was extremely helpful on literally everything. Could not recommend enough!

My girlfriend and I had an amazing dinner at Mare E Monte. We had the calamari fritti as an appetizer and the breading along with the aioli was absolute perfection. The owner and staff were also incredibly kind and attentive. They greeted us as if we were old friends. We had the Ravioli and Fettuccini dishes as our main and both were impressive. We finished our meal with the tiramisu and we're incredibly pleased.

We had our date night at Mar e Monte and it truly exceeded our expectations! From the moment we walked in, we were warmly greeted by the owner, who made everyone feel like family with his heartfelt, “Welcome home.” The entire staff was just as friendly and attentive, creating such a welcoming and comfortable atmosphere. We started with a Caesar salad, which was fresh, crisp, and full of flavor. For our entrees, we enjoyed the Sole and the Pollo Bronx. Both dishes were absolutely delicious, cooked to perfection, and the portions were generous without being overwhelming. To top it all off, we shared a tiramisu and blueberry cheesecake for dessert. While both were wonderful, the cheesecake was our favorite. We will definitely be back and are already telling our friends and family about this gem. Mar e Monte is a must-visit!

My sister and brother in law and I went for lunch today. Absolutely the BEST homemade lasagna and tiramisu I’ve ever had! Jace was an INCREDIBLY great and kind waiter! I will definitely go back soon!

We went here for my birthday, I wanted some seafood and pasta!! After reviewing the menu online I was so excited to try this place. However when we got here the parking was, not ideal, to say the least. I really wish there were better signs for the parking but that's the only reason I'm not giving the 5 stars. We ordered Asparagus Fries for an appetizer they had a bit of spice but were so tender and flavorful and the yogurt dip was delicious! I ordered the Lobster Ravioli Mare e Monte with Shrimp, the shrimp was tender, soft and pink, the ravioli was filled with delicious savory lobster meat and the sauce was titch but not over. My husband ordered the Bronx Pollo Parmigiana (Chicken Parmesan) the chicken was tender, juicy and flavorful, had a nice bit of a mouth and just made you want to eat more. The spicy chicken paired perfectly with the creamy sauce. We also ordered the Tiramisu and cannolis to go. The tiramisu was rich and decadent , the cannolis shell was flaky yet held together, the cream inside was indulgent. Even though we had to take it home it was so wonderful. Another thing that made this place wonderful, is the owner came around to every table, shook our hand and made sure we knew it's like a family and whatever we needed he made sure to make it happen. You can definitely feel the family home cooked Italian vibes. Will definitely come back, and can't wait to try more.

Great food, good service, good atmosphere. Def worth the price for some good Italian food! Forgot to take a picture of my ravioli, tiramisu was excellent. All the food was surprisingly light but flavorful.

What a wonderful experience as usual. Prince and Lorik continue to amaze and exceed our expectations. Our server Joe was absolutely on point when it came to suggesting that we begin our dinner with Adriatic Shrimp with Scallops the diced veggies and sauce were excellent and the appetizer was enough to four folks to share. When some guest in our party could not decide, Joe our fantastic waiter, recommend the Ribeye Stuffed Bell Pepper which ended up being a huge and delicious suggestion that three in our part. I ended up totally enjoying the Pork Chop Martini, which was the best dish I have ever had at Mar E Monte! I have 100% of the old menu, which means I have now had about 80% of the current menu. We had the Spicy Rigatoni and Sauteed Mushrooms and everything was wonderful. We finished the evening with their always wonderful Tiramisu and tried the Cannolis and Bisconti Cheesecake. What a wonderful, relaxing evening and we just had a wonderful time and highly recommend that you go and see Prince and Lorik as they continue to shine! Thanks to all the staff.

This has to be the best Italian restaurant in San Antonio. I had their meatballs, calamari, their version of chicken parm with some of their rigatoni noodles, their ravioli and dessert was tiramisu. Everything tasted wonderful and will definitely be going back. Love this place!

My girl and I are always looking to try new restaurants every week. We decided to try Mare E Monte for the first time and let me tell you it was great! Food was fresh and hot. The service was promptly and professional. If you decide to go ask for Guillermo! He was upbeat and full of energy. Im glad he recommended the plates we got too bad we didnt have enough room for the tiramisu but next time we go we will definitely try it!

I have eaten at Mare E Monte several times, and I can tell you that they, by far, have the best Italian food in all of San Antonio! I'm a native New Yorker (been living in SA 6 years) so, by default, I'm a bit of an Italian food "snob", lol. I had the pleasure of dining here on Mother's Day and not only was the Chicken Piccata the BEST I've ever had, the service was well above five stars even on a busy day like Mother's Day! One of the things I love most about this restaurant is the owner's (Prince) ability to make you feel like you're a family member having dinner at his dining room table. He makes way through the restaurant stopping at every table and personally greets and thanks every customer, whether it's your first time eating there, or your tenth. If you haven't had the pleasure of visiting Mare E Monte, do yourself a favor and get there asap! EDIT: The desserts are also AMAZING!!! Cheesecake, Tiramisu, Cannoli's....all delicious!!

This may be my new favorite restaurant in San Antonio! The atmosphere was amazing, even though it was packed, we were seated very efficiently. Everyone was so attentive and you can just feel the positive vibes here. Then the food! OMG, it was amazing and exceeded my expectations at every turn. The fried calamari with the creamy cheese tomato sauce was cooked PERFECT. Very few restaurants pull it off this well. Then I had one of their signature dishes grilled chicken with goat cheese and sun dried tomatoes in a garlic butter sauce. Amazing. Tiramisu for desert was no let down from the other dishes. You have to try this place. It's a gem and I can't wait to go back.

Lived in Europe for many years and this is a gem in San Antonio A MUST! Staff is fantastic and food is incredible Had the Sole and glad I did. I would give 6-stars! Breaking news just had Tiramisu and it is best I have had in USA BTW Josh was brilliant, helpful, engaging You can tell the team has pride in this establishment.

Had dinner there tonight and let me just say that everything was GREAT. From the wonderful server we had, Gabriela, to the amazing food. Definitely the best local Italian place you can go to in the city. Great atmosphere and vibe. The food was cooked to perfection and the tiramisu was some of the best I’ve ever had. Everything is absolutely delicious. I recommend trying the asparagus fries and the shrimp appetizer. The lamb chops were perfectly seasoned and cooked. I had the lobster ravioli, and you can actually taste how fresh the pasta is. I'm addicted to the tiramisu. I'm a tiramisu addict and I can eat this every day. My husband had the cannoli and also loved them.

The food was AMAZING! Best tiramisu I’ve ever had! The espresso seeps out the bottom with every stab of the fork. The service is on point too! Servers are very attentive and the owner is very friendly and always around. This place is a must!

This was such an unexpected pleasure to eat here last night. Our server Jace was very friendly and attentive. The owner came by twice to welcome us and check on us. We had the artichoke appetizer, the sole, and the veal picatta, and tiramisu, along with a bottle of wine. Prices were very reasonable, and food was just outstanding. So much better than hassling with downtown traffic and parking too! Will absolutely be back!!

Had lunch with a friend. Service was Excellent! So friendly, attentive & patient. Food was magnifique! They even serve veal dishes! You can tell everything is fresh and made to order. They have an in-house pastry chef. Tiramisu & Canollis was mouth watering...perfect! They were even able to adjust an order to taste.

Everything about this restaurant is five star! Our waiter Adam's service is super, just the right amount of attention and very knowledgeable on the wine and food. All the food was super from the artichoke appetizer, our entries lamb chops and the black noodle dish my husband orders, the wine and tiramisu are all great! We are so happy to have discovered this restaurant. We will be coming back for sure!

Now all the 5 star reviews make perfect sense. We were greeted by the sweetest host and each and every person who worked there that we came in contact with truly made us feel like they were so happy we were there. Such a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Not only was the service impressive but the FOOD! We had the lasagna with meat sauce and pollo parmigiana- Delicious! Everything tasted so fresh and cooked to perfection. Dessert- Blueberry Cheesecake was to die for and Tiramisu was so light and perfectly sweetened. We will absolutely be back!

Shockingly good food. Shocking in that within an unassuming strip mall is easily the finest Italian food I have ever eaten, in a cozy setting with dynamite staff and an effusively pleasant owner. Superlatives fail me. I'm reeling from the dopamine. Try everything, but especially the Pasta Nero and the Tiramisu. Absolutely beautiful flavors.

Always a pleasure to dine at Mare e Monte. The staff and owner are nice and attentive to everyone. Its wonderful to see the owner interact with his customers, which is rare to see nowadays. The fettuccine di Parma is superb and I love how they make their tiramisu. They've raised the bar on how Italian food should taste that I can't eat anywhere else without thinking, "Mare e Monte food is much more delicious!" Which brings the question, why am I eating anywhere else besides Mare e Monte? 🤔

The lobster ravioli was rich and flavorful, the veal parmigiana was perfectly cooked, and the tiramisu was a delightful finish to the meal. The staff were attentive and welcoming, making the evening even more enjoyable. Highly recommend for anyone looking for quality Italian cuisine in a warm and inviting atmosphere!

I had the eggplant Parmesan and it was beyond delicious. The home made sauce is superb. I also ordered the tiramisu and was not disappointed.

The food was delicious and different. We had the artichoke hearts for an appetizer and it was very unique and really yummy. The Pasta Nero was not typically what Americans think of Italian. It's had almost an Asian flare. A little spicy with bold flavors. Different, but very good. The lamb chops were a little overcooked (I ordered medium rare. They were more like medium well). I didn't send them back because the flavor and tenderness made up for it. They were delicious. We finished it off with tiramisu that was great. The service was awesome and Prince, the owner, made it a point to come to every table and introduce himself. He left a great impression that made us want to come back.

Best Italian food I have had in San Antonio. Service was phenomenal and the owner walking around greeting and speaking with every table thanking them was the cherry on top! We tried the lobster ravioli and the fettuccine with shrimp. The tiramisu was amazing!!

Went to the location for the BBQ place next door,they were out of brisket and turkey so I decided to try this place . I walked in and noticed it was packed . I was greeted at the door by the owner and was offered a seat at the bar. The service was top notch and the food was delicious . I highly recommend the tiramisu . It was $10 but you get a nice portion and it’s delicious. For the meal, I had the Bronx chicken parm which was crispy and season to perfection . It’s a small place but very well decorated and feels very cozy. 5 stars all the way .

Hubby wanted a proper lunch this past Sunday instead of brunch food. He suggested we visit @ristorantemareemonte on Huebner. It was already busy but we were able to be seated quickly. If you don’t know, you can join the waitlist on Yelp. Prince welcomed us warmly, shared recommendations and ensured we had a great experience. Even gave us complimentary tiramisu and blueberry cheesecake to take home. The complimentary bread was warm and came with a dipping sauce. We tried the Calamari allArrabbiata with the sauce on the side. They were perfectly crunchy and also had the aioli to dip in. We shared the Insalata Primavera, which was perfect for the 3 of us. During our previous date night, Prince recommended the Sole Oregenata, their customers’ all-time favorite dish. Dad and I shared that generous portion. Love the sauce! Hubby had the recommended Pork Chop San Remo and added the Fettucine Alfredo. Love the fig jam on the crust! He shared a bite but I had to ask for a second bite! All the food were fantastic. Guillermo never missed a beat with his service. He kept our drinks filled and checked in on us frequently. If you haven’t been here yet, add it to your list to must try. Everything is wonderful from start to finish! The restaurant will introduce new dishes in April. In addition, they will be having wine dinners to test new dishes. February’s wine dinner will feature Georgian wines.

Exceptional food and service! I was there for my birthday with my family. The waiter treated us so well. He checked on us frequently, with a smile. We had two members of the staff come by to check on us as well. The food was beyond delicious, fresh and seasoned perfectly. I order the lasagne al forno with a meatball and a bottle of red wine for the table. The red sauce was perfectly light and fresh like a true Italian sauce should be. We finished our meal with tiramisu, a lite up candle and everyone from the staff singing happy birthday to me. It was a beautiful evening. I cannot wait to be back. Thank you so much, Mare E Monte!

Visiting family from out of state and decided to buy Italian for dinner. We ordered several items to go on a Tuesday night. When I got back to the house, I realized they had left out one of the items. I called to ask they credit my card, but was so impressed with their generous response! The owner not only apologized but insisted on bringing the order to the house. He brought the lasagne and 4 free orders of cherry cheesecake. The lasagne, seafood risotto, Caesar and caprese salads were excellent and the tiramisu and cheesecake were delicious. Mare Monte certainly gets our vote for an amazing place to eat Italian cuisine. Thank you Mare Monte! My 97 yo mom and 93 yo aunt loved the food and your dedication to excellence.

The 5 star reviews are for real. Friendly and fast service, but did not feel rushed at all. The owner made us feel so welcome, and the food was excellent. In addition to the complimentary sourdough bread, we got the meatballs, asparagus, and bruschetta for appetizers, which were all delicious. I would only say meatballs could have been a little hotter, but still so tasty. Our waiter anticipated our every need, and waited until we were finished with our apps before serving our mains. My husband loved his spicy rigatoni, and my Pasta Al Nero was so flavorful, garlicky, and hot. Tiramisu was also one of the best we’ve had. We will definitely be coming back!

Food was fabulous. We had Asparagus fries as an appetizer. For our entrees, I had the Sole and my brother had the chicken Parmigiana. We had tiramisu for dessert. Restaurant was very clean, staff very friendly. The owner came in and greeted everyone, shook our hands, asked about our experience and thanked everyone for coming in to eat. This is definitely how to run a business! Everyone should give this restaurant your business. We will definitely be back, and we’re from Corpus Christi 🥰

I saw this place had a clean 5 star review with 1300 reviews. That's mind blowing by itself, and it came recommended, so I had to try it. I had the seafood risotto, caesar salad, and tiramisu, and the italian beer (the only beer they have, so the owner says, because he wants more people to taste it and see how great it is - he's not wrong!) The staff were attentive, lovely, and flawless. The owner himself was kind and welcoming and made me, a total stranger, feel like I was invited to his personal kitchen for a home cooked meal. And the food was fantastic. This place earns their 5 stars. It is no joke.

It was such a pleasure to be here on New Year’s Eve, celebrating in such a lively atmosphere. The owner is one of the most personable people we’ve met a long time… instead of saying “welcome in” (like most establishments these days)… He says welcome home. And he truly means it. The white linen tablecloths are a nice touch, offering a cozy atmosphere and a touch of elegance. The food was delicious, And each course was just as enjoyable as the last. We started with the Burrata - the fig jam was delightful And the burrata was so creamy. For our mains we had the sole with asparagus risotto, and the pork chop With fig jam, and pecans. Both were amazing. The Tiramisu is to die for… Don’t miss out! And if you like espresso, it’s on point as well. We came from across town, and look forward to our next visit. It’s well worth the drive. Just remember, they don’t take reservations! But any wait you might encounter is well worth it

The food was AMAZING! The chicken parm, chicken mare, and Alfredo was the best we’ve ever had. The house made bread was AMAZING! The tiramisu was spot on. The owner was so friendly and checked on us often. Service was amazing! Will definitely be back!

Beautiful restaurant. I took my mom here for lunch. The service is top notch! I had the Bronx pollo parmigiana.This my favorite dish. My mom had lasagna. We shared the grilled artichokes and fried artichokes. Tiramisu for dessert.Everything was delicious.

The pollo e monte was absolutely delicious. The goat cheese paired with the sun dried tomatoes and lemon butter sauce is heavenly. Not to mention the tiramisu which was filled with very light mascarpone and delicate ladyfinger layers. The coffee was also delicate and light without overpowering the flavors.

The lasagna has the absolute best marinara sauce ever, not too acidic, lots of umami, just incredibly delicious, great pasta and filling also. The tiramisu is also incredible. I’ve never tasted one to top theirs. It is prepared by their in-house pastry chef.

We really liked the lasagna and meatball appetizer. The service was outstanding and the atmosphere was nice. We did feel the prices were a bit too high for not much food. We do not recommend the tiramisu dessert.

Our family loved everything about this lovely restaurant. Each of the 3 dishes we enjoyed were all delicious‐ we had the lasagna, lobster ravioli with veal & Pollo ala picatta & we all highly recommend. It was extra special to celebrate a birthday with a tasty dessert of tiramisu. If you're gluten free, you MUST try their gluten free bread. It's amazing. Truly an incredibly magnificent meal! Great wait staff, Andrés, and the food was amazing with handmade delicious pasta. The lemon chicken and veal melted in our mouths. Went there for my first time and had the chicken picatta and it was incredibly tasty. The service was impeccable throughout our 1.5hr stay. We also had the orange tiramisu at the recommendation of our server, and I'll be honest: I was a bit skeptical, but it was fantastic. Not drowning in coffee at all and the texture was lovely. I'll definitely be back.

What a wonderful experience at Mare e Monte. From the excellent service from Lukcky to the enthusiasm of Prince. What a welcoming experience. The Insalata Primavera was big enough for the two of us. We both enjoyed the complimentary wine. I had the Pollo e Monte which was full of flavor. The fresh bread and Tiramisu for dessert was fantastic. Best of all was the feeling of having the staff treat us as if it was our house minus the clean up. What a refreshing experience having the owner share his love for this country and his guests. Bravo!

Not sure where to start, the amazing service or the food... Came here for a Sunday lunch. Upon walking in, about 5 staff were standing by the door welcoming every guest and seating them at the table of their choice. Owner immediately came over to greet us and insisted we let him know if anything was not perfect from the food, service, ambiance, lighting, etc... He also told us about the meaning and history of him opening the restaurant and how much it means to him for every guest to be 100% satisfied. Lastly, he told us about the menu concept and gave some recommendations. Wow, all this was before the service started. Zerina was our server and she immediately came over and was just as pleasant, friendly, and helpful. Ordered a few glasses of wine while looking over the menu. For appetizers, ordered the Calamari Fritti and Shrimp Oreganata. For the meal, ordered the Sole Oreganata, Pasta Al Nero, Bronx Pollo Parmigiana, and Eggplant Permesan as a shared side. For dessert, ordered Tiramisu and a Chocolate Caramel Cake. Every course was perfectly timed as had plenty of time to finish each dish without having to wait a long time for the next. Every dish was perfectly plated in every detail. Most importantly, every dish tasted amazing. Everyone tried each dish and was equally as impressed. I would've been happy with any dish as my main meal. I can't say which was better, the food or the service. Probably the most genuine, authentic, and personal service I've had in San Antonio. This has quickly become a go to and I'd highly recommend coming here.

This place is the absolute best Italian restaurant anywhere in the triangle. The manager/owner was actively on the floor talking to guest and pouring free wine (Yes FREE wine) for anyone who was dining. I ordered the Chops and let me tell you they did not disappoint. They were the most tender perfectly seasoned and seard chops I've EVER tasted. We also had the strawberry white chocolate tiramisu and it was so good I didn't even share with my wife. All the staff was friendly and were not shy to help each other's tables and guests. I've never experienced such good customer service in any establishment I've been in. The owner literally opened the door for us on the way out, asked us our names, shook my wife's and I's hand and told us the restaurant is our home, we are always welcome. I'm so glad I chose to dine at Mare E Monte that evening because it was an experience I've never had and will never forget. Thank you for making that night memorable. Id give yall a million stars if I could.

Had been dying to try this place with all the hype and WOW. I’m hooked!!! My brother in law and I took parents from out of town and it was all exceptional. Service is a 10/10. The owner is so involved with his guests. Caprese Salad is a MUST have and calamari was incredible. House made desserts (Tiramisu) was to die for. Awesome place!

We had the fish in lemon butter with shrimp on top. It was perfectly cooked, flavors balanced beautifully and the meats were perfectly caramelized. We had the artichoke appetizer, came out perfectly, warm artichokes over fresh mozzarella and prosciutto. We also had the lobster ravioli, which I wish the raviolis themselves were a bit larger, and there was a little less sausage in the sauce. However, it is still a dish I would recommend. Ended the meal with strawberry tiramisu which was light, refreshing and a good ending for the meal. Although this place has only been open 3 months, we are excited to see the menu grow and the atmosphere develop. The food is definitely amazing with great flavor and balance in the dishes. You won’t find overpowering American flavors, it is truly on the European spectrum of elegant flavors. Would love to see the atmosphere develop into more of an elegant evening destination. Maybe more seclusion around the tables and painting the ceiling black/lowering the lights to bring the ceiling down. Overall wonderful experience.

This was some of the best food I've had! I recently took a trip to Italy and I cam confidently say this restaurant is legit! I had the picatta. The chicken was juicy and flavorful and the lemon sauce was light. My dad had the sole. I'm very picky about fish dishes but it was amazing! The fish was light and flaky. The risotto was better than what I had in Italy! My niece got the penne vodka. It was a little too spicy for her (she's 9) but I loved it. We asked for a side of Marinara sauce to take away from the heat and it was perfect. Also, the Marinara sauce was just like one I had in Rome. It was simple yet flavorful and fresh tasting. I just enjoyed dipping my bread in it. We also had dessert. My niece loved the white chocolate strawberry tiramisu. I loved the chocolate cake! It was seriously the best chocolate cake I've had. It wasn't overly sweet. The owner came by and talked to us and asked how everything was. He was so passionate about his food. It was so inspiring to see an owner take so much pride in his art and actually take the time to talk to his customers. It truly reminded me of being back in Italy. 🥰

The food is amazing, and the team is very welcoming (also on top of refills). Looking forward to when they get their liquor license to see what cocktails they’ll have to offer. Food: Calamari fritti is a must have, the breading, the seasoning, and the marinara are fantastic. The blueberry tart is perfectly balanced, though the chocolate sauce it’s plated with is aesthetically pleasing it takes away from the flavor. Had the Bronx veal parmigiano and lamb chops entrees - my companion and I loved the veal, and she was a big fan of the lamb chops. Service: we went during end peak dinner hours on a Thursday. Occupancy was around 75%, kitchen was backed up and we had to wait a while for our entrees but it was worth the wait. The host and server were very pleasant, and the team works together to ensure you have what you need throughout your meal. Atmosphere: the music choice was lovely, the menus introduction helps establish expectations in flavor, and the tables and floors were very neat and tidy. Why a 4 on atmosphere? The light curtain in the floor to ceiling windows of the front of the restaurant did not do justice for controlling the glare of the evening sun, and the banisters are in need of after hours dusting. Overall: would (and will) definitely return. There are many more items we’re looking forward to trying (like the strawberry tiramisu and the pasta dishes), and the owner or manager who’s checking on guests is very friendly.

I had the rack of lamb as the tiramisu. Both were perfect. The rack of lamb was seasoned well and perfectly cooked at medium with a slight crisp. The tiramisu was sweet and soft like a cloud. The service was top notch and friendly. Highly recommended!

Don’t let the strip mall setting throw you off. This place is the real deal. Everything was fresh, delicious, and beautifully presented. The bread—chewy crust but soft interior, so good! Kalamari appetizer, chicken piccata, sole oreganata, all wonderful. Don’t skip dessert- blueberry lemon tart and white chocolate tiramisu (strawberries and white chocolate, no mocha or coffee flavor) were both amazing (the tiramisu was to die for.) Every one of the staff were friendly and solicitous. We’ll be back!

Had a wonderful lunch here after reading many rave reviews. The service is excellent and the owner is very friendly and extremely willing to please. I had the traditional calamari, the sole, and the strawberry tiramisu. All were excellent and very carefully prepared- tasty and beautiful!

We went here after reading about it quite a bit on the SA restaurant page on F’book. We started with the Calamari Al’Arribbata. That was a nice way to start off a meal, but we also wanted to save room for the mains. I wish that they had a half order but still it was very good. The LOML (Love Of My Life) had the Sole Oreganata. She said it was one of the best meals she’s ever had in her life! What I tasted of it, I agree that it was excellent. Soft and buttery fish that just melted in the mouth. Meanwhile I had the Bronx Pollo Parmigiana. TWO chicken cutlets pounded thin, breaded, and covered with mozzarella and parmigiana cheese also the arrabbiata sauce with the cherry peppers (which had a flavor similar to little banana peppers) which worked well (imo) as the little bit of acid helped cut through the cheesiness. For dessert we shared a White Chocolate Strawberry Tiramisu and the LOML had a coffee. At first I was a little afraid that it would be too sweet but that wasn’t the case at all, just the right amount, to help cleanse the palate after a great meal. We will be back and, I at least, will be trying other things from the menu. On a side note as we were leaving, the manager or owner came up to us and thanked us for coming in and shook our hands. I thought that was a very thoughtful and kind gesture on his part.

Amazing spot. Service was great, good was stellar. The menu size is just right. Had a party of five and everyone inhaled their dishes and couldn’t get enough of it. Need to come back to try something else,and get our hands on that tiramisu.

We came to celebrate Mother's Day, early. Ardit provided amazing and attentive service. We started of with the meatballs, calamari fritti, and the artichoke as appetizers. They were delicious. I had the Pollo e Monte, and my wife had the Bronx Pollo Parmigiana. I have to say this is the best Italian meal I've had. We topped the meal off with dessert of Caramel Chocolate Cake with Sea Salt, and a Vanilla, Chocolate, Strawberry Tiramisu. Also amazing. The whole atmosphere is very inviting and fun. The entire staff made sure we had everything we needed. This is going yo become our go to place for Italian.

Our experience at Mare E Monte was phenomenal, specifically: 1). Customer service-5. Professionally greeted at the door quickly seated, and the waiter introduced himself very professionally recommended excellent menu choices. 2). Food fast and quality-5. We had the Ravioli Fritti as an appetizer. Pollo alla Picatta and the Fettuccine di Parma with chicken, all of the dishes were hot and great tasting requiring zero enhancements (no salt, no pepper, no additional add-ons). We had such a great taste that we decided to share a dessert. Of course our waiter recommended the white chocolate Tiramisu. It was two layers of strawberries and very moisture with white chocolate that was not overly sweet - a perfect way to end a great lunch. 3). Price-5. For the whole experience we paid $75.00. Excellent value for a great lunch. The service team was outstanding, management was very engaging and let us know that they were still in a work in progress. But from our experience, we can’t wait to comeback.

Thoroughly enjoyed our first visit here. The entire staff as well as the owner were welcoming and kind. Very quick service. The food was fresh, hot and absolutely a delight. I had the veal parmesean with fettuccine alfredo. Crispy breading, tender veal, cooked to perfection. The Alfredo sauce was not too thick, perfectly coating the fettuccine. I chose the strawberry tiramisu which was a refreshing twist on the classic. We will definitely be back!

As a table we could all agree that the food was beyond delicious! The dessert for the day, a White Chocolate Strawberry Tiramisu, was divine! Overall great apps, food, dessert, and coffee, and the service very attentive and accommodating for our party with a toddler, would recommend👍

Just had the best lunch in awhile. The food was delicious. We had a shrimp appetizer, chicken piccata, some kind of fish in a lemon butter sauce, strawberry tiramisu and chocolate cake. You can’t go wrong.

Had lunch there today with my daughter (not a child). Fried ravioli appetizer - I had lobster ravioli and she had black pasta the we had raspberry tiramisu & affogato for dessert. Awesome. If I could eat more I would have gone back for dinner. Amazing owner & server. Sue Masters

We ate here last night and could not stop telling them how amazing everything was. I’m still kicking myself for forgetting to take pictures of everything like I usually do, I will definitely be going back so there will definitely be pictures to come. This picture is of their strawberry cheesecake tiramisu and the owner personally sent out a side of strawberries with Nutella. The atmosphere and service was amazing. The owner checked on us several times. You can tell his heart and soul are in this place. We love it and have found our new favorite dinner spot for eating out.

The white chocolate tiramisu is A MUST!!!! Mind blowing, star of the show ❤️ the service is TOP NOTCH and the setting is so pretty. So glad to have found this place! We ordered penne alla vodka and pasta al nero, both super good, some of the best we’ve had in San Antonio. The truffle fries, some of the best we’ve had as well 🙏🏼 God bless the owner, team and this restaurant.

Great location and beautiful inside. It is still early days but we are hopeful that this becomes a mainstay in the area. Calamari and fried ravioli were both yummy. Had the steak and fries and the chicken with goat cheese. Steak was good fries were perfect. Goat cheese and chicken are always delicious. Tiramisu is a bit different with strawberry instead of espresso and was light and delicious.

This place is amazing! The owner was is so kind and made sure that we loved everything that we ordered. The dessert is not your traditional tiramisu this is a strawberry tiramisu and it was delicious! For our appetizer we chose the calamari and the aioli and the marinara sauce that came with it were chef’s kiss. Our entrees were the vodka sauce penne and the pasta al Nero both were delicious! Can’t wait to come back and try everything else on their menu!

Everyone was exceptional & helpful. The twist on flavors is amazing. Risotto entree was amazing! Truffle flavor was not light & I prefer that. Appetizers can be a meal so go light on them if you want your entree more. Owner was amazing & his passion was shining which reflected in the food as well. This new Italian restaurant was nothing short of phenomenal! The menu selection is really great with chicken, veal and seafood options. The spices and flavors were unique and complimentary! We had the white chocolate strawberry tiramisu and it was very light and not too sweet! Can’t wait to go back and try more menu items next time! The moon artwork on the wall was really cool as well! Very unique place!
