The was our first time and we were blown away! We ordered the Caesar salad, calamari fritters and veal parmigiana. Everything was fantastic! Can't wait to come back with our kids. Oh, and Joe's PlayList was BOMB!

I stopped by Mare e Monte for lunch with five other guests for a birthday. I ordered the vitello parmigiana and the vitello alla piccata, and both were spot on. The veal parmigiana was tender and comforting, with just the right amount of sauce and cheese. Nothing felt heavy or overdone. The vitello alla piccata was lighter but still full of flavor. The lemon and capers were balanced and fresh, and the sauce didn’t drown the veal. The service really stood out too. The servers were polite, attentive, and gave us space to enjoy our lunch without rushing us. Everything came out at a good pace and we felt genuinely taken care of. Overall, it was a relaxed, enjoyable lunch with great food and great service. Definitely a place I’d come back to without overthinking it.

Great food and service. Need more room though!!! We had a large party. The owner picked up my partner like a veal meatball. But thats a good thing.

Family and friends gathered last night for my grandson's 18th birthday. It was the first time for any of us to dine at Mare e Monte. We were taken care of and greeted by the owner and staff from the beginning. There were 12 of us and although the restaurant was full it only took about 30 min to be seated. The atmosphere is joyful, fun. Decorations (Valentines) are amazing. Joe and Isabella were our servers. They really took great care of us from getting food quickly for our little ones to serving birthday cake at the end of our meal and staff singing Happy Birthday in Italian at our table. So fun! We ordered several appetizers and main courses. We had our favorites among foods we ordered. The veal parmigiana was our favorite- and yes, they poured hot cheese over the veal at our table. Impressive! Thank you for taking such good care of us last night. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience at Mare e Monte!

Calimari was the best we've had in San Antonio. The Veal Parm with vodka sauce was excellent. Staff was very good/knowledgeable.

The moment we entered the restaurant we were told “welcome home“. Staff at the restaurant makes you feel like you’re dining in someone’s home. The smells are fantastic. Our waiter, Ben, was so welcoming and wanted to know about us his new friends. I had seen a couple videos about this restaurant on Instagram and had some ideas what I wanted to try. I was not ready for the stracciatella al Fuoco. This dish was wonderful. The cool of the Burrata mixing with a warm sauce was delicious. There was a spiciness to it and everyone at the table spooned it onto the crostini and devoured the dish. A member of our dining party had the pollo Bronx Parmigiana. The videos on the Internet of the cheese being poured over the dish don’t do it justice to see in this live and in person. The ravioli Mare e Monte is a delicious blend of lobster ravioli, and a sauce that has veal. Very tasty. My wife enjoyed the sole oregenata which had a light and crispy crust with a delicious lemon butter sauce. I had the Vitello alla Picatta. I normally don’t order veal, but on my waiters recommendation, I tried this dish. The veal was Very tender and cooked to perfection. The secret to this dish is the crispy capers! We were all so stuffed but we couldn’t leave without trying the tiramisu. A wonderful way to end a great meal with friends. I will recommend this restaurant to all my friends and I will make trip across town to dine here on a more regular basis.

We visited for the first time for lunch. What a hidden gem! Prince greeted us warmly with “Welcome home!” Our waitress Melania was courteous, quick, and provided great suggestions. The grilled artichoke appetizer was delicious. The stuffed veal and lamb chops were delicious and expertly prepared. The biscotti cheesecake and cannolis heavenly. We will definitely be back!!

Great food. Calamari was good. My wife’s chicken Entree and my Veal were great. Even the carrots were very good. Our server Javier did great!

We loved come eat lunch our server Javier was outstanding bring every thing quick, he es very friendly.. my order is chicken al monte..delicious and my husband take veal morea was scrumptious..the menu has healthy very good flavor vegetables with fresh bread

When my usual lunch spot was closed, I tried Mare e Monte next door — and I’m glad I did. The lasagna Bolognese was rich, hearty, and clearly scratch-made, the kind of dish you can tell took real time and care. The bread with olive oil was a nice start (though the butter I requested showed up after the lasagna — a small service slip considering there were several staff and a manager on the floor). I added a side meatball — excellent flavor, veal, homemade — but for the price, it felt a little out of balance. To their credit, the manager asked for feedback, comped it, and I suggested either making it bigger, making it two, or folding it into the lasagna at a slightly higher plate price. Overall: food was delicious, service was attentive, and I’ll definitely return for more of that lasagna. As for the solo side meatball? Let’s just say… it needs a wingman.

We recently enjoyed dinner at Mare e Monte. We were greeted warmly by the Owner upon arrival and promptly seated. Our waiter, Joe, also greeted us and provided an excellent overview of the appetizers as we discussed our drink order. Service was very attentive by all staff but not overly so. The Owner checked in twice to ensure our satisfaction. We regularly enjoy dining out and can easily say that Mare e Monte has top notch service. The food exceeded the service. The staff readily accommodated a food allergy making the ordering process quite smoo99th. We enjoyed appetizers that included both an asparagus dish and a seafood dish. Both were perfectly prepared and flavorful. The entrees were excellent with the veal dish being one of the best I've had in Texas. We enjoyed excellent service with food that was well prepared. We will return. . . . soon.

We stopped in while on vacation from Oklahoma. Hands down the BEST food. Services was amazing as well. We had a party of 6 and didn’t have to wait at all for a table. We were met by the owner who treated us like we were family. We had the Ravioli Mare E Monte, Veal, Alfredo (one chicken and one shrimp), Gnocchi, and calamari (both options). The bread was fresh and so delicious. There was not one bit of food left on any of our plates. I wish they had a location in Oklahoma because I’d eat there all the time. This is a must for any future trips.

Very nice ltalian restaurant. We enjoyed the small and cozy ambiance and the food was delicious. We don’t eat Italian often and are not huge pasta eaters. Their sole and veal dishes were excellent. Service was exceptional.

Had lunch at Mare e Monte today and it was an exceptional dining experience. First time there. We had the calamari, appetizer, with stuffed veal and lasagna with meatball for our entrees. All items were skillfully prepared and were excellent. Really enjoyed the taste, ambiance, and service of our lunch. Mira, our server, was knowledgeable, courteous, and a credit to her profession. We will definitely be returning there and I'd recommend Mare e Monte to anyone looking for great Italian food in a very welcoming environment.

Stumbled by this place on Sunday. We had no reservations but they were able to accommodate us. We shared a Caesar Salad that even split in 2 we could not finish. Hubby had the Veal Parmesan and thought it was wonderful. I had the Sole Oreganato and it was stupendous! The owner Prince was very cordial. Our server Fatima was very attentive and sweet.

We had an amazing dinner at Mare e Monte and loved every bite! The Ocean City Crab Cakes were the perfect start—crispy on the outside, packed with lump crabmeat, and paired with a tangy remoulade that gave them just the right kick. The Seafood Risotto was creamy and flavorful, loaded with shrimp, scallops, and pieces of delicate sole. You could really taste the care that went into it, and the cherry tomatoes and Parmigiano on top pulled it all together beautifully. The Vitello Bronx Parmigiana was next-level comfort food—tender veal with a crispy breading, smothered in a rich vodka sauce and gooey mozzarella. The spicy cherry peppers added a great little heat, and the fettuccine Alfredo it was served on was rich and delicious. We finished the night with the blueberry cheesecake, and wow—so good! Creamy, not too sweet, and the blueberry topping was super fresh. It was the perfect ending to a fantastic meal. The service was friendly and attentive, and the whole atmosphere just felt warm and welcoming. Mare e Monte is definitely going on our list of go-to spots in San Antonio. Highly recommend!

We spent my husband's 58th birthday here last night and the food and service was impeccable! The owner, Prince, is a whole vibe! He makes you feel like family and shows so much gratitude for your visit. The food is next level, I mean everything my lips touched was amazing! My husband had the lamb chops, seasoned to perfection! My sister n law and myself ordered the Sole. The light & crispy seasoned fish is on a bed of the best creamiest risotto you will ever taste! My brother had the chicken or veal (forgot the name) with a huge meatball on top that was gone in a blink of an eye. We also had the Calamari all'Arrabbiata, I didn't get a pic but just order it and thank me later. You MUST try this restaurant, even if there is a wait, it is worth it! 10 out of 10, wonderful experience!

This was such an unexpected pleasure to eat here last night. Our server Jace was very friendly and attentive. The owner came by twice to welcome us and check on us. We had the artichoke appetizer, the sole, and the veal picatta, and tiramisu, along with a bottle of wine. Prices were very reasonable, and food was just outstanding. So much better than hassling with downtown traffic and parking too! Will absolutely be back!!

Had lunch with a friend. Service was Excellent! So friendly, attentive & patient. Food was magnifique! They even serve veal dishes! You can tell everything is fresh and made to order. They have an in-house pastry chef. Tiramisu & Canollis was mouth watering...perfect! They were even able to adjust an order to taste.

My husband and I had an amazing time at Mare e Monte! We were seated immediately upon our arrival. The hostess was very welcoming. Our server was Lucky and he was very hospitable and attentive. We had the meatballs as an appetizer and they were so delicious! They were fork-tender and were complemented well by the onions in the sauce. I was celebrating my birthday in San Antonio and wanted Italian cuisine. I ordered the Vitello Bronx Parmigiana and my husband had the lamb chops. I’ll start with his selection. The lamb was cooked as requested and seasoned to perfection. He wanted to eat the meat from the bone! LOL!! The veal reminded me of when my grandmother would cook paneed veal on Sundays. It was also seasoned well along with the creamy tomato sauce that topped it. I can’t say enough about how delicious and fresh everything was and Lucky made our visit all the more special by offering to take our picture. Thank you all for a great time. If you’re looking for good Italian fare, look no further!

Mare e Monte delivered an exceptional dining experience with delicious food and outstanding service. The lobster ravioli was rich and flavorful, the veal parmigiana was perfectly cooked, and the tiramisu was a delightful finish to the meal. Guillermo gave wonderful recommendations and service, even though it was a busy night. The owner, Princ, was very warm and welcoming, checking in on us several times. The food was absolutely phenomenal! The veal parmesan Bronx and grilled artichoke appetizer were truly outstanding. 10/5 stars all around!

All I can say is wow. San Antonio restaurant owners, listen up! All of you need to pay attention to how this business treats their customers and prepares their food. From the moment we walked in we were impressed by the level of hospitality extended to my wife and I. The owner came and personally greeted us at our table. Said anything we want even if it’s not on the menu they could prepare it for us. The waiter named G was top notch. Customer service unparalleled! Made sure we were taken care of 100%. I ordered the Osso Bucco. It was a special and it was absolutely out of this world delicious. The best veal I ever had. The chef came to our table to make sure everything was perfect. A real class act! This is what sets this place apart from the rest. I highly recommend it. I could go on and on but I will stop here. You need to eat here. Trust me you won’t be dissatisfied.

Now I understand why this has so many 5 stars. My husband and I went for our Valentine’s Day date and although we did wait an hour (which is to be expected) the wait was soooo worth it! The staff was suuuuper attentive and we were thanked several times for our patience. The tall man with the glasses (didn’t catch his name) made us feel so very welcomed and was knowledgable about wine selections. Our food was amazing and fresh! I ordered the seafood risotto and my husband ordered the veal. We even bought a bottle of white wine for the table and a bottle of red to take home. We will DEFINITELY be back and had an amazing first experience!

Had a great experience. Everyone couldn’t have been nicer. Zerina, our server was a great help and very attentive. The calamari was great. We loved the sole (melts in your mouth) and the veal. So many delicious things on the menu. We’ll be back soon. A new favorite.

Saw the reviews and had to try. The food is great, servers were very prompt and friendly, busy but efficient service. Pasta was outstanding, veal was superb. Great food, great service, definitely worth trying.

We visited Mare e Monte Italian Restaurant for the first time today. We were welcomed as soon as we walked in and taken to our table. We ordered the crab cakes and meatballs as an appetizer. They were absolutely delicious. The veal parmigiana and chicken Marsala were also delicious. The service was outstanding. We are definitely returning. This is now our neighborhood Italian restaurant.

Veal Picatta is the best in the city. Amazing service and atmosphere.

We went for an early dinner. The food was perfect. My husband had Chicken Parmesan, his friend had the steak and I had Veal Piccata. The Caprese Salad was excellent and large enough for my Husband and I to share. The bread was the best! We had to pass on dessert because we were so full. Our server ( I think his name was Andres) was extremely attentive. We will definitely be going back..

First time here... This place was featured on Texas Eats... WOW.. the food and service was outstanding..! ! ! ! The Veal "Bronx" Parmigiano and the Sole were absolutely Fantastic. We had an off the menu appetizer, Grilled Artichoke... Delicious.. I Can not recommend this place enough. If you love Italian food, you will love it

This place is wonderful if you want to do something special and have a relaxed meal. We treated a couple of friends to dinner. The staff is extra friendly and I believe the owner came by our table to greet us. You can switch things up on the menu a bit if you want. My wife and I had the veal, which was tender and delectable. We ordered a bottle of wine. I was able to order a kid size portion of spaghetti and meatballs for my toddler son. He went to town on it. I had a taste, and it was just superb. They don't skimp out on the marinara sauce here!

My wife and I came here on a whim, and my God it's amazing. The veal was absolutely fantastic!10/10. If you are second guessing for what ever reason don't, just go.

I'm not sure what to rave about first, the food, the service, or the charming ambiance. 100% recommended dining experience. The food is fresh and strays from traditional mom and pop italian with elevated flavor profiles. The bread and oil served complimentary is soft and warm, the sauces have subtle kick, lamb chops were well prepared. The service was 5 star stand out from all of the wait staff well trained and with attention to small details greatly impressed. While the lamb chops were perfectly cooked they could have used a bit more flavor for my taste and the tiramasu needed to be soaked in more coffee which is the only reason I've rated the food as 4 stars. The Bronx Veal dish . . . Delicious. The restaurant is decorated for Christmas and is just perfect. I'll be back and will tell my friends.

Our family loved everything about this lovely restaurant. Each of the 3 dishes we enjoyed were all delicious‐ we had the lasagna, lobster ravioli with veal & Pollo ala picatta & we all highly recommend. It was extra special to celebrate a birthday with a tasty dessert of tiramisu. If you're gluten free, you MUST try their gluten free bread. It's amazing. The ambiance is perfect and the hospitality is like no other. 5 star & HIGHLY RECOMMEND. We will be back!

Truly an incredibly magnificent meal! Great wait staff, Andrés, and the food was amazing with handmade delicious pasta. The lemon chicken and veal melted in our mouths. The tiramisu was the absolute best. This place should be packed every night! Casual atmosphere. World Series time. No better Italian food in San Antonio!

The food was outstanding! The meatball appetizer was perfect. The veal was perfectly cooked and the Fettuccine Alfredo was one of the best. Polo Martini wax excellent. Definitely give the place a visit! The staff and owner caters to your every desire!

Reasonable pricing and quality food!! My favorite was the veal picatta and the Caesar salad! We also had the chicken Parmesan and eggplant Parm! Great Service and very nice atmosphere!

The best Italian in SA! Food was wonderful!! We ordered the veal piccata, chicken parmesan, a side of eggplant parmigiana and a caesar salad. The owner came in to greet us. We felt like we had homemade food. Ambiance is very nice. White tablecloths and nice napkins. They offered us complementary wine. My favorite was the Caesar salad and the chicken Parmesan. Wonderful music and great service. Highly reccomend!!!

We had a fantastic dinner!! Delicious filet of sole and veal scaolpini! Fabulous service, we will be back to try the lunch.

It was good, i had the veal. My only observation is the veal breading was not crispy like my Italian grandmother makes. I would dine here again.

The food is amazing, and the team is very welcoming (also on top of refills). Looking forward to when they get their liquor license to see what cocktails they’ll have to offer. Food: Calamari fritti is a must have, the breading, the seasoning, and the marinara are fantastic. The blueberry tart is perfectly balanced, though the chocolate sauce it’s plated with is aesthetically pleasing it takes away from the flavor. Had the Bronx veal parmigiano and lamb chops entrees - my companion and I loved the veal, and she was a big fan of the lamb chops. Service: we went during end peak dinner hours on a Thursday. Occupancy was around 75%, kitchen was backed up and we had to wait a while for our entrees but it was worth the wait. The host and server were very pleasant, and the team works together to ensure you have what you need throughout your meal. Atmosphere: the music choice was lovely, the menus introduction helps establish expectations in flavor, and the tables and floors were very neat and tidy. Why a 4 on atmosphere? The light curtain in the floor to ceiling windows of the front of the restaurant did not do justice for controlling the glare of the evening sun, and the banisters are in need of after hours dusting. Overall: would (and will) definitely return. There are many more items we’re looking forward to trying (like the strawberry tiramisu and the pasta dishes), and the owner or manager who’s checking on guests is very friendly.

Super cute place, amazing food, and I give 10 stars for the service. I can't tell you the last time I have been to a restaurant that was so on top of the timing and attentiveness. The Italian flavor was fresh and robust. The caprese had an amazing balsamic that was fabulous.. veal piccata with capers was fabulous 👌 pictures below are just a few things we ordered

Really enjoyed our dinner and will return. We wish the veal was scallopini style and not as thick. And the sole was quite greasy. The shrimp app was similar to Paesanos, although less buttery, which we liked as it was lighter. Artichoke app was very good, but could have benefited from a less fibrous sampling. And adding more salt to the pasta water wouldn’t hurt. Deserts were meh, lacking flavor and there was no cappuccino available.

My husband and I were looking for something different and stopped by for dinner. It’s authentic Italian for sure. The service was excellent! We were immediately greeted at the door and welcomed. It was very clean and the decor was nice. The service and food were great. We were always checked on. I had the veal Parmesan, but will be trying the lamb chops next time. The prices were pretty comparable to other restaurants so we didn’t feel like it was overpriced. We will definitely be going back.

We saw a recent local news story featuring this restaurant and all that was reported was great, so we decided to try it. To start with the staff are all extremely attentive and professional. The overall ambience is comfortable and relaxing. The had the Shrimp Oreganata which are shrimp cooked in a butter, garlic and white wine sauce. It was delicious. I had the lasagna with a beef and veal meatball on the side. It was one of the best lasagnas I've ever had and the meatball made it even better. Why go the the noisy chain restaurants when we have locally owned small businesses that will provide you with a wonderful and intimate dining experience. We will definitely be returning.

Thoroughly enjoyed our first visit here. The entire staff as well as the owner were welcoming and kind. Very quick service. The food was fresh, hot and absolutely a delight. I had the veal parmesean with fettuccine alfredo. Crispy breading, tender veal, cooked to perfection. The Alfredo sauce was not too thick, perfectly coating the fettuccine. I chose the strawberry tiramisu which was a refreshing twist on the classic. We will definitely be back!

We decided to try the lamb chop and veal parmigiano dishes. Both were great. The lamb we asked to be cooked medium and it was done to perfection. The dishes were balanced so that it wasn’t just a carb overload. Service was excellent and we had an overall wonderful experience.

The Meal was delicious. Veal was cooked perfectly. Prince is a great guy! Will definitely be coming back and telling friends.

This new Italian restaurant was nothing short of phenomenal! The menu selection is really great with chicken, veal and seafood options. The spices and flavors were unique and complimentary! We had the white chocolate strawberry tiramisu and it was very light and not too sweet! Can’t wait to go back and try more menu items next time! The moon artwork on the wall was really cool as well! Very unique place!
